Getting ready to watch. Watching last weeks episode with all the hints in it. They made a reference to Alice in Wonderland and the key was under the rabbit. If the last shot on Lost is a tea party I’m pissed.
Also in this episode I just noticed that Jack is wearing his father’s watch.
Ah! Watching “Lighthouse” back and Claire said “first my father told me and then my friend told me” when Jin asked her how she knew the people at the temple had her baby. Kind of shoots my Jacob/Christian theory, huh? Why would Jacob tell her that? Maybe so she wouldn’t kill Kate?
If that’s not the reason, then it’s hard to imagine Jacob saying that which would mean it’s more likely the MIB was Christian. But she differentiates between the two – first my father, then my friend – and recognizes her friend despite the fact that he looks like Locke. So if she can still tell it’s her friend even though he looks like Locke, she should have been able to tell that Christian was her friend, too, which would suggest it WASN’T the MIB being Christian.

I agree with the Kate thing and no, I totally missed seeing Jack! I’ll have to watch it back tomorrow!
Why could Ben kill Jacob so easily with a knife to the chest but Sayid could not kill Flocke?
Flocke definitely bad and a badass. After killing so many its hard to argue against it… unless Jacob came to power in a similar way we don’t know about yet.

Sayid could not Kill Flock because he let Flock Speak, Once Flock spoke, he had Sayid under his control and Sayid was unable to harm him.
Flocke is rather surprised to see Kate at the end, I wonder if he didn’t think she would survive the “cleansing” or that Jacob left her behind, or just surprised that she was going to follow him without him having to force her under his control.
And this whole dark vs light, good vs bad, who is really good thing.
This isn’t a battle between good vs evil, it is a battle between Chaos(Flocke) and Destiny (Jacob). Both have their place in time and both hate everything thing there is about each other.
Chaos appears to be evil on the surface because he shows his hostility towards anything that has to do with structure and destiny. But he also has a good quality to him because he is for free will and choice and making your own path.
That’s what this is about and why neither side can win and both sides have good and bad qualities, because Lost is about the balance that needs to exist in time between Destiny and Chaos.

An interesting theory, to be sure.
I think the reason Flocke is viewed as “bad” rather than just “chaotic” is because . . . well . . . for starters, he kills people. They don’t necessarily have anything to do with structure or destiny, they’re just punished by death for not following him.
But the less obvious reason I think he’s viewed as evil is that he tries to gather followers with temptation – “what if I told you I could give you anything you want?” He’s said that twice already.
I think many people usually equate “good” with destiny, fate, and faith, while “bad” is often equated with temptation. Not that the pairs are necessarily synonymous, but they are more often than not, congruous in most people’s eyes.
Jacob seems to act more on faith – having Hurley take Jack to the lighthouse, having faith that Jack would react the way he did.
This is just speculation, of course. I like throwing around ideas about this show – who knew a tv show would cause such complex discussion??

im with you on that theory – man i can see it now and i quite like it?!!! everything that happens is just progress!!! However that would surely leave it open to more stories and possible spin off!! which i hope wouldnt happen?!! As much as i love lost and dont want it too end THE END has to be THE END : (

I agree that we are probably heading for a loop kind of finale. But I think we may find that each time things loop around the characters don’t know they are looping but have some kind of subliminal recollection of certain connections and they may be able to make certain different decisions/changes/improvements each time they loop through. Progress you might say; but progress towards what I am not sure.
If anyone has read Stephen King’s Dark Tower series you might get what I mean. After 7 epic volumes the reader discovers that the central character climbs through a hatch at the top of the tower and is then in exactly the same place as he was at the beginning of book 1.
SO YEAH, I BEGIN TO FAVOUR THE THEORY THAT WE WILL FIND 2 OF OUR CHARACTERS SAT ON A BEACH WATCHING SOME BOAT OR PLANE APPROACHING THE ISLAND. WHICH TWO CHARACTERS I REALLY DON’T KNOW YET. ALSO NO CLUE YET ABOUT WHO THE ADAM AND EVE SKELETONS ARE!
