President Obama has access to all of Lost’s Secrets
In case you haven’t heard, the President’s State of the Union Address typically falls on or around February 2nd (the same night as the Lost Season 6 premiere).
Lost producer, Carlton Cuse, posted the following on his Twitter account:
“In exchange for moving his speech, Damon and I promise to answer ANY questions the president has about LOST.”
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs assured that it was unlikely the president’s speech would conflict with the premiere.
However, the White House declined to say when Obama will deliver the speech, which he will likely use to push for his domestic priority of healthcare reform.

Hey Scott. Happy New Year!!!
I was mortified that the President’s speech might delay the Lost premier for a week. Some would even say that it is deplorable for an American to feel this way. But, they just do not get how much I am anticipating the premier.
So, in response to your question, and it is a good one, I would ask Damon and Carlton the following: Who was in the cabin when Ben thought that Jacob talked to Locke: was it Jacob, Esau/MIB, or someone else.
If I had a second choice, I would ask them if John Locke died in the initial plane crash and the whole time was really Esau/MIB who pretended to be Locke?
OK- One more- Who is Smokey/Ceribus???
I am done!!!!!! We should know in about 2 weeks about the President’s speech, but I think we are hosed here in the US.
Good question Scott- I guess mine would have to be the following: We all have regrets in life, which character do you (the writers) in retrospect wish you could have done more for or changed something in their character?

I have 2 questions. I would ask what christian shephard has to do with this whole thing? What does Walt have to do with everything?
I do think that a lot of things will not get answered because they have nothing to do with the whole story, which im fine with. As long as the story comes together at the end and I’m not left guessing. We have been guessing for so long to be left in the lurch will leave me really pissed.

I hope that they don’t make up some convoluted way to bring these people back to life. I usually find things like that come across very very weak.

The State of the Union speech is not expected to bump Lost which is nice. I don’t know if it is for sure yet but either way I can’t wait either.

I don’t think Ben will ever be shown to be good or bad. I think he is just selfish and does whatever he has to In order to benefit himself.

Adam…actually Desmond´s story ist told! (he turned the failsafe key, got together again with penny = a child) Think about it once! Even if he is since season two my favourite character, i thought about his story and…yes,sad but true – his done!!
The only thing what bothers me are Faradays words to Des….”you´re special, unique and other bullshit, so i really hope to see Des in action again but i think the writters have other plans for him..
by the way….if the real original John Locke is really dead, then this would mean that Ben killed Locke -in the apartment in LA-!! Damn murderer!!
Also another thing is that i believe now everything what happened through the time travelling and the end int the 70´s were just progress for the losties. So either if the bomb detonated or not -it happened always that way- and everything should then continue how it was before they started the trip through time..

I think the writers have said that they are done with exploring time travel and things of that nature, It seems like when Farday was telling him the rules don’t apply to him was involved with all the time travel stuff. So his story could be told but I hope not.
The writers have said in this season will focus more on season 1.

I am thinking you could be right. In the orientation videos of the swan they talk about an “incident” which was before the losties travelled back. So is the incident referred to in the videos the bomb that the losties created or some other event. If is the bomb then that could mean that it always happened that way as you said.
I don’t think Desmond’s story has been complete at all. His relationship with Whidmore, Penny etc…
Especially if they go back in time with the bomb going off he will still be around. Plus we left him in the hospital after being shot. He 100%, still has things that need to be completed.
I have to say that Desmond is not done because when he, Ben, Eloise and Sun were at the lighthouse, Eloise was babbling on about him and what he needed to do (can’t remember the conversation now), and for some reason she was at the hospital when he was shot. I think there is more to his story.

I was reviewing parts of the season finale, and I believe 2 things. Call me crazy if you like.
First, I think that all along Jacob knew how Esau (whom I think is Magnus Hanso, but that is another story) was going to kill him. So, when he touched Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, et all, he deposited a piece of his soul or spirit into them so that he could be resurrected somehow later. Kind of like Saramon in Lord of the Rings where his life force was in the ring, and he needed it to be restored. Same thing when Spock put his “katra” into McCoy before he went into the radiation chamber in the Wrath of Kahn. That would explain why Jacob so willingly walked into Ben’s knife, and why he said “they are coming” right before he got kicked into the fire, because he knew he could come back. That would also explain why Jacob resurrected John after daddy pushed him out of the window. Jacob knew Easau would use john so he made sure John was still alive.
Second, I think Ben was in it all along with Jacob, and pulled an academy award winning performance of the surprised, humble, defeated guy just to fool Esau/John and us poor saps. And, Esau was fooled as he went to great pains to appear as the smoke monster and then Alex thinking that He had Ben right where He wanted him. Remember “do exactly what John tells you.” I also think that Ben knew about the temple “under” the temple even though he claimed he did not. He had been on the island too long not to know that.
Like I said, call me crazy, but that is what I think.
Totallylost I completely agree with you on this with Ben knowing all along also I believe Christian was in on it too. I believe that Esau was actually Christian, I believe he had Locke to turn the wheel because he knew he was going to die and he needed another body to get people to follow him.
Remember we never saw Locke and Christian together after Locke went back after turning the wheel.
My last thought for tonight is that the key still lies in the watch that Christian gave Jack before he got married. They spent too much time on that for it not to be important.
My second last thought is that maybe just maybe Widmore put a GPS or something in Locke’s leg when he had it operated on. Just so he could have some clue where the island was. Remember there was a reason why Ben had the communications fixed where no one could reach out. Just my thoughts…..
Richard7769- Are you saying that Ben was in the scam with Easu or with Jacob? If Easu, I understand your first paragraph above. But if Jacob, that would not make as much sense as Jacob and Esau would not be on the same side since Easu was looking for the loophole to kill Jacob.
As for Widmore possibly implanting a GPS in Locke, didn’t he find the island, and thus send the freighter, BEFORE Locke turned the Donkey Wheel??? If so, a GPS would be useless since Widmore would have already known where the island was. I may be getting my timelines mixed up here, so please correct me if I have this wrong.

I agree with you on that one. Makes sense then that Ilana and crew lugged John’s body all over the island, why Jacob’s last words were “they are coming” or something like that. I also think that that could be the reason that John was so important, maybe Jacob will now take over John’s body (or something like that) after all it seems like Jacob brought Locke back to life once already (after his father pushed him out the window).
jones….thats a great point! Or at least that is a great observation and theory. Jacob could take over the other Locke body and it would be a war of John Lockes! never put that together but thats a good theory. can’t wait!!!!!
Yeah Adam I had totally forgotten about Ms. Hawkings visiting Des in the hospital. I know there is more to his story and I really hope they tell it. After remembering the hospital scene I think there is a bit of hope.
There are so many characters with untold stories there is no way to cover all of them, lets hope the ones they do focus on will leave us satisfied.
Totallylost i did mean Easu also after Locke turned the wheel Widmore did not know where the island was therefore he could have planted the GPS and since Locke is now dead before he went back he could use that to track where Locke’s body is.

By the way folks, under the Lost Season 6 Countdown, I posted no. 38 where I noticed that the following 2 scenes from Season 5 were similar but different. Did anyone else notice the below or am I suffering from an extreme case of lost fever (or drug addiction??):
In “316” there were two scenes of Jack waking up in the jungle. One at the beginning, and one at the end. I always assumed they were the same, but when you look at them closely, they are slightly different. Starting from when Jack jumps in the water and saves Hurley which is the same in both scenes:
Scene 1: Jack sees Kate, goes to her and while she is still LAYING DOWN, here is a exact quote of that dialogue:
JACK: “KATE, KATE, CAN YOU HEAR ME.”- KATE SAYS “JACK”- JACK SAYS: “ARE YOU OK” – KATE SAYS: “ARE WE?” JACK SAYS: “YEAH, WE ARE BACK.” KATE SAYS “WHAT HAPPENED.” JACK SORT OF SHRUGS.
Now, go the second scene at the end of the episode. Jack saves Hurley, sees Kate, goes to her and says:
“KATE, KATE, CAN YOU HEAR ME.”- KATE SAYS “JACK”- JACK SAYS: “ARE YOU OK” – KATE SAYS: “ARE WE?” JACK SAYS: “YEAH, WE ARE BACK.” KATE SAYS “WHAT HAPPENED.” JACK SORT OF SHRUGS.
CLEARLY THESE ARE TWO DIFFERENT SCENES AND I DON’T THINK THIS WAS A MISTAKE. WHY?????
Next, at the end of 5×05-This Place is Death.” After Ben, Sun and Jack went to the lighthouse where they met up with Desmond. When they walk into the lighthouse. Ben says “Hello Eloise.” Eloise is facing the candles, she finishes the one she is lighting, puts the match out, turns and says “Hello Benjamin.” “I thought I said all of them.”
Now, go the 5×06- “316.” In the beginning is the same scene. However, this time Eloise is putting the match out when the door opens. She turns and walks towards them as they are coming in. Eloise says: ”I thought I said all of them” The “Hello Eloise and “hello Benjamin” from 5×05 is now gone. So Clearly 2 different scenes, and I doubt that was a mistake. WHY????????????????????????
Am I crazy???? Can someone look and tell me you saw the same things???? HELP- I am totallylost.
Sorry: I screwed up the second conversation that Jack had with Kate at the end of the episode just after he rescued Hurley. It should read as follows:
“KATE” SHE WAKES UP AND SAYS “WHAT HAPPENED.” JACK SAYS “CAN YOU GET UP” AND HE HELPS HER UP. KATE SAYS: “THE PLANE, WHERE IS THE PLANE.” JACK SAYS “I DON’T KNOW.”

Does anyone remember what Biglostfan said about Aaron last year?? Here is a cut and paste of that post (which I thought was brilliant):

Well, that tells me that there truly can be a lot more to the story of Aaron. Also, as Jacob never “touched” Claire or Aaron, Jacob probably did not have any use for him, so yes, maybe he is destined for evil.

Whatever his inclusion will be is undetermined, but i think it’s a guarantee that Aaron will play a role in this season.
Any thoughts on what Jack will say and do when he sees John (aka Esau) in the future?? Will he say WTF?? Or, maybe he will punch him out, as those two have never really gotten along. After all, Jack has no idea that john has been resurrected (in a way!!)

then it says “begins” as a stand alone quote highlighted

The way I see it, those pictured are the regular cast, while the special appearance or non-recurring ones that included Jacob, MIB, Penny, Widmore, Ellie, Rose, Bernard, and Walt are not pictured.
The only good thing about this theory is that maybe alcoholic-red and horse-head Bram will not be around much, and Ceasar is really dead!!!!
