Well im an aussie so i will always be the last to post cause we are a little behind you guys, but i love this site!!!
So i guess we are dealing with 2 separate time lines and i believe the choices they make will carry them down the path they are meant to be on. (on or off the island)
I did notice a few things (when taking a second look lol), The flight did land safely in L.A, but with no flight number or date? Shannon, Micheal and Walt were not on the flight, yet Desmond was. Jack was the only 1 that seen Desmond, was he really there? Can Desmonds consciousness swap between realities?
Sawyer seemed different almost a better man, more polite, offering help.
Rose n Bernard seemed more in love then ever, maybe Rose is cancer free now.
Hurley the luckest man alive, we know something is up with that…lol
With Jack there were smaller changes, the flight attendent handed him only 1 bottle of Vodka not 2 (as on the first flight). He sat in row 24 not 23 n he seemed to have more faith.
Yes Desmond had a ring on, has he alredy fallen in love n not with Penny?
Sun and Jin did not have rings on, so they are not married…Sun was referred to as Miss Paik not Sun Kwon (Jin’s last name).
Sayid looked at his passport which said he was from Iran NOT Iraq…???
All the signs n statues in Lost are Egyptian, referring to gods, life or death in one way or another. Is this island the battle field for good n evil? does the monster/smoke want to go home (to the Temple) is that his home? Seems that the Temple is pretty hidden and important, only those with names on the list got in and anyone else that came close died. Does this Temple hold all the power?
I am sooooo hooked more then ever, but i also WANT more anwsers and less confusion…lol

why is Desmond on the plain back home ? He was on the island when the plain crushed …..and if the plain didnt crushed ….his place is not on that plain to USA.

hey guys,
thanks for all the great insight! just wanted to add a detail (although i have no idea of its significance)… the wooden symbol in the guitar case was also the same that Paul (Amy’s 1st husband–Amy then married Horace Goodspeed)wore around his neck. Amy took it after the Others shot him in 1974…
such a little thing, but thats why i LOVE this freaking show!

Time moves so fast off the island that’s why it can catch up quickly. When Locke was in the hospital and Whidmore came in he said only like 3-4 days have gone by but it was like 3 years off the island. So they are def going to catch up. I have no doubt about it.

What happens once they do who knows but the choice thing i mentioned above was just a guess/theory.

I think there is going to be a lot more biblical type things going on then we have seen so far. I didn’t pick up on the Sayid thing but this show is littered with references. None of the characters seem to get it tho.

The season finale is on a Sunday tho so I’m sure we are heading down some biblical thing. Biblical people usually have a huge problem with things like this, (see Passion of The Christ, Dogma, Divinci Code)and that means ratings. But I think they will do it in a way that’s true to the show and not just for rating. Even though they have obviously sold plenty of commercial time!!

Andy- My thoughts are that the release of the massive energy pocket at the swan site was responsible for putting the Losties back to the future. It is possible that it could have been a combination of the bomb detonating at the same time the energy pocket was released that somehow diffused the harmful effects of the bomb, but was enough to propel the losties in time. Something made Kate end up in a tree and I think it was more likely a release of natural energy than fusion/bomb energy.

I hope that makes sense and I hope we get a real answer of what happened this season.

Hi,
I am surprised no-one has really yet picked up on the possible Jesus-like thing going on with Sayid……..immersed in water (baptism), resurrected from the dead. Given the strong biblical links revealed in the past, there may well be some biblical significance to the Sayid situation.

I’m still a bit confused about the bomb detonation thing too. Why do people think the bomb went off? If an atomic bomb had gone off at the site of the Swan hatch, then there would have been way more devastation at the site when our Losties woke up. In fact it seems more likely a ‘flash’ happened. If so, there would be no alternative reality playing out back in the real world. Having said that, I wonder if the alternative reality thing is a result of the bomb detonating at precisely the same moment as the flash occurring – thereby creating two realities.

Any thoughts.

Hmm…

OK, I’m going to go out on a limb and go completely against what everyone else seem to be saying – I really don’t think the two realities are going to merge, or if they do it won’t involve anything cheesey like both sets of characters meeting themselves and making a choice. I’d be very disappointed if something like that happened.

I’m guessing fate will dispose of the characters in this new dimension because none of them get to be who they should have been on the island, and they will be picked off, like in Final Destination. My chief reasoning for this: look at the way the episodes (including What Kate Does) seem to be edited – frantically, in realtime, almost like 24. I think a chain of events is being put in motion that will play out over a series of hours since their arrival at LA X, and it will end in disaster.

Adam, I know that time moves differently on the island and everything, but the island where Smokey and Jacob are battling it out is still four years ahead of the LA Xers, there’s no way the two dimensions could meet in one season. So why are there two dimensions in play…? Damned if I know! But it’s fun to watch…

i dont know if the discrepancies will ever really come in to play. Based on the interview that they did on jimmy kimmel live after the show aired tho makes it seem like there is a significance to them.

Why do other countries show it so later than they show it in the US? I dont get it
