WOW! Thanks for that. I am just watching season 4 on DVD so am getting well into Lost-mode again! Noting things I hadn’t spotted before (but you guys probably had) like Charlotte being C.S. Lewis - what is it with this programme and people’s names? Are the writers just playing around with us?
wow I hadn’t even noticed that… I’m hoping it has actual significance!!
Thanks for the promo too!!
I can’t wait!!!
jesus christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome!… Did you see Sawyer jump from that Heli.- … what a pimp!
ok….ok…this is great. I will open up a interesting observation….
In this promo while Ben and jack were talking. Ben said Thank God for second chances….. does this mean they will go back in time to correct the present? I sure wonder? But what I couldn’t help but notice was this quick visual segment during that dialog which was Charlie with his backpack and the person coming out of the enterance to one of the capsules in a yellow suit…. AGAIN… CHARLIE!!!! Now that shot was not in ANY of the PREVIOUS seasons!!!!!
So is this a teaser of Charlie coming back? but as possible future change possibilities for the past that will effect the future???(I know…i know confusing…but just think of the movie back to the future)
OK…I’m an idiot…..IT was Faraday!!!!! Disregard earlier blog…lol.
LMAO!!!!! I was looking around and couldnt find it anywhere
it wont open for me…
looked up on youtube.com and found it. Its a 15 second clip that moves so fast I didnt even pick up on anything really….what is the CS Lewis rumor?? sounds interesting.
Hi Adam,
Re CS Lewis - when they give Charlotte’s full name it is ‘Charlotte Staples Lewis’. Staples is what the S in CS Lewis stands for - coincidence? I think not, too unusual a name. Now, I’m no expert on the Narnia books but there do seem to be links, for example, Aslan coming back from the dead (Christian Shepherd?). And the way they arrived on the island (and left it), and the moving of the island could be similar to going through the back of the wardrobe into another world.
Just my thoughts, probably nothing new to these boards!
But another thought - unrelated - in series 1, when we see Charlie on the plane pre-crash - he is clearly in need of a fix. His hand is shaking and the Driveshaft ring is tapping on the arm of his seat. It sounds like morse code to me - could Charlie be inadvertently sending a message that perhaps helps bring about the crash?
jason > the biggest hint that they get back to the island is jack saying “they die too if i didn’t come back”. the tense would suggest that he’s saying that back on the island. wonder what the ‘too’ means? maybe jack’s death is coming - that like michael he has to go back to complete his mission/purpose, then he’ll die?
great theories! I noticed Charlotte’s name a long time ago but actually now I understand the relation - that the island is like another world… Thanks a lot, Gillyjay!
The producers said that time on the island is different - just like the world of Narnia. But why exactly Charlotte? Do you think she has a special relation with that place?
And as about “they die too if I didn’t come back” - this is the first time I understand this actually means that probably jack’s death is coming…
And who is this yellow-dressed person??
gillyjay, i really dont think that charlie was sending a morse code with his ring… no way
Tory,
ohhhh yes! and even better after getting safely to shore
This just sucks we have to wait till what Jan? to see Lost. The way I’m thinking about this is as in th bible and my own up bringing that you have a second chance before the world ends. You have the opportunity to make it right with your creator or go on doing what you want and when things end, don’t say we didn’t warn you. Things like this have bad repercussions-I would hate to see what if anything should you turn the other cheek. Some people believe this has a biblical issues, scientific issues and make believe if you want, another time, another place.
Time travel to another destination could be.
In watching a recap of the second episode of season 4, Daniel Faraday said the island’s light was strange. The captions at the bottom of the screen said the strange light was a hint as to what the special qualities of the island are. I have run that through a bunch of times in my head and still can’t think of what that’s supposed to mean. Anyone have an idea?
well for me its just another weird factor that proves that the island is not just an island. I guess it has to do with the magnetism of it.
I am no expert but I read somewhere that magnetic fields can bend light so I would assume that somehow Faraday picked up on that. I am also thinking that this could possible explain why the island is so hard to find. If the light is bent away from the island in such a way that unless you cross the right path the island does not come into view this could explain why it is so hard to find. It could also change the way light hits the island making the light “weird”.
Another long shot related to this theory would be that when Ben turned the donkey wheel that all he did was change the magnetic feild and bend the light in another way, making the island seem to disappear. The biggest hole I see for this one would be how do you explain the “ripple” created when the island disappeared unless it actually moved.
It seems to have been a long wait for season 5 but I am waiting to rewatch season 4 until it comes out on December 9th so hopefully that will help the wait.

Hope you like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSxiyBGDcVE
Well, looks like the ones who didn’t want to come back are suddenly in a hurry to do so… Even Hurley who apparently has to kill someone.
I just can’t wait to see how Whitmore and his D.I. will fail again to get the Island back.
I already feel sorry for Des coz Ben will kill Pen, unless Sahid kills him first.
Is the Island the last traces of the Atlantide on earth???
Have a good season 5….
Watch here the whole hit song “You Found Me” performed by The Fray, hope you like it!

Atlantide ! excellent theory, totally possible
Well, it is just a supposition but I really felt intrigated when Sahid, jin, and Sun saw that piece of (4 toes) foot on the shore while sailing to ambush the natives. It really looks like a statue of a colossus like the mythology Rhode one.
Therefore it seems obvious that the natives we know came with that 18th century slave boat “black rock” a long time ago and never got older ever since.
Now Jacob is obviously the link to all this but the island is more than a magnetic field place. Did you note those kind of primitive drawings on the walls of the wheel chamber where Ben reached to move the island…? strange, very strange, may be alien type language.
There must be another place on the island to get out of it or to time travel but never found by the D.I., maybe the Temple. How Locke could have come back if there wasn’t?
How could Richard could back in time to see Locke’s birth and tested him as a child without having access to the D.I. one.
My main question is why both Ben and whitmore know that whitmore cannot be killed??? any suggestions?
Watch carefully, you’ll see Ethan pointing his gun at Locke!!!!

Juankanoa, interesting! i hadn’t notice the symbols in the walls and connection with aliens could be a possibility.
Im just a bit disappointed that the series has diverted so much of the first episodes… time and space travelling is good but if Lost had begun in that way it would make sense. Now maybe this does not make sense what im saying, but it seems that the producers are trying to dig in whatever ideas they can come up with to do new episodes.
I am accro of Lost and i will watch it till the day it ends but frankly, i would love to see more consistent intrigue.
Hi sfj, yeap, I’m not sure whether that flash between Locke and Nathan took place in the past episodes, I’ll search. But I’ve also noticed that Richard was after Charlotte and Daniel and I can’t remember this from the past seasons. Even less Daniel threatened by this NBC suit guy (or woman). Are these flashes from the new season…? If so,
Looks like the natives want to get the rid of everybody else… is that the reason why the six suddenly agreed to come back…? I thought Whitmore would chase and kill them and that’s why they wanted to go back. I suspect Sun has made a secret deal with Whitmore.
To answer karen, I believe the producers always kept in mind the fantastic side of the show, and since the beginning. Remember the psychic wanted Claire on that plane, that the black tall guy wanted Locke on that australian trip, etc… so somehow Jacob knew that plane was going to crash due to Desmond’s late arrival to reset the code. He knew that someone on that plane would contest Ben’s leadership. Jacob is so smart that he let everybody thought that Locke was the one but Richard went back in time and figured out he’s not (remember that test he did with the knife…). So who’s Jacob is trying to protect???? think about it… “the one that is not with us but walks amongst us”… yes, your hero my dear Karen…. he will be the Leader the Island needs… happy now????
We’ll next figure out that nobody dies on that dam Island…Therefore I still don’t get why the island was always Whitmore’s… it’s a sure thing he’s behind the Dharma Initiative but I don’t believe the all purpose is to transform the island into a fun park, Ben is a liar, don’t forget.
I believe the writers are doing whatever they can to confuse us about the real story, that’s their job and they’re doing great.
Cheers to all…
JK.
juakaona -
what does this mean? “the one that is not with us but walks amongst us”… yes, your hero my dear Karen…. he will be the Leader the Island needs… happy now????
I know the quote but who do you think it is.
Maybe there are different groups trying to control the island.
Ben thinks Locke
Whitmore thinks Charlotte
Psychic wanted claire
etc..
Maybe there are more groups at play for the island than we think.
I like the idea that richard went back in time to test locke to see if he is the real leader and realizes he is not. this is info that would have been supplied to ben tho as he and richard are on the same side so i’m not sure if it totally fits.
Hi Adam,
Remember the tatoo that caused many problems to…..Jack in Pukhet…? that sweet little thing told him he is or would be a leader…
Now, the quote came from that old Lady “the Sheriff” of the natives traducing the tatoo. Jack answered something like “that’s what it says, but not what it means”.
Richard and some others are obviously not agreed with Ben Leadership and policies like Juliet said to jack when she asked to kill him in the surgery room. Ben was appreciated and put in charge by the natives after his “heroic” act when he killed all the D.I. members. The fact Jacob talked to Locke in the cabin really pissed him off and that’s why he shot him. He said it clearly.
I believe Richard did not supply the info to Ben in order to protect Jack from him.
The whole thing is Jack is not prepared to take the lead as his scientist and rationalist mind blocks him (see his discussion with Locke at the Orchid) but I bet you he will in season 5….thanks to Claire, his sister and Christian, his father. He should soon meet Jacob…
I may be wrong about all this so don’t blame me if it does not happen.
Cheers,
JK.
I’ve just remembered that Richard himself talked about Ben’s wrong policy as he was focusing on the natality issues on the island…it was when he gave Locke his father report (so that Swayer would kill him).
I believe its because Ben is actually following Whitmore’s idea to allow births in order to colonize the Island.
That discussion between Ben and Whitmore, about changing the game’s rules etc… still disturbs me.
Is Ben secretly playing Whitmore’s game but just wants to do things his way and keeps his leadership at all costs.
How do you explain these strange Dharma supplies parachutings? For who are they? If Whitmore wants to get the rid of the natives and take backthe Island, why does he send food…?
nice dharma initiative logo at 39
I think the whole food drop scenario is a huge plot hole that doesnt coincide with the direction the story has gone in.
I dont bet on it ever being explained.
Along with the 4 toed statue.
