well, andy, the writers of the show made the characters the story in the first season. I do want questions answered, but i like not having questions answered kinda. It makes it all the more suspicious and freaky and awesome. Like when you did not know what the dharma initiative was in s2 it was awesome. That is the beauty of the show.I like this season a lot. It is awesome.

I decided that I am a bit bored with some of the diversions that this season is giving us. We become immersed in talking about who did / does / will do to whom, how they did / do / will do it etc etc. None of this really takes me any nearer my fundamental desire to understand what the island itself is all about.
In other words this has become a bit of a soap, where the characters themselves have BECOME the story, rather than them being IN a story.
I want to know about why the island is undetectable, I want to know if it was always undetectable (or only after the DHARMA project), I want to know how the time travel thing is possible and why only Ben appears able to do it etc etc.
Sorry to have a bit of a downer on it (and I do love the show), but I feel it has become a bit stale and the finale to this season needs to be something pretty special for me.

I think another important story line to take from it is the fact that Jack got sick on an island that has supposide abilities to heal. I think rose stated that outright. Why is Jack getting sick, I think that is the big question.

whats bugging me is why did Jack need an appendectomy? It didn’t move the story line along or create any new connections. It just didnt fit. It was dull, too straight forward, uninteresting. (except for the electric floodlight so they could perform a night operation — where did that come from?) So, IMO it is either that Juliet gave Jack something to create the sysptoms so she could go in and implant some sort of tracking devise or whatever in him for Ben or else he still has his appendix and the scar vanishes (for those who insist they have seen the scar.) I bet in a flashforward Jack will need an x-ray and discover an implant or that still having his appendix will reinforce the already dead / different time line theories and maybe cause him to go off the deep end with Hurly.

IDK, I think the theory makes sense but I dont need to be guessing all that ya know. As a fan of this show I don’t want to have to watch it and also have to have a Masters Degree in Psychology or know Freudian theory’s. I just want to watch and be entertained. Those types of theories are so out there that you can’t even watch and explain the things that go on….Theres time travel fine, theres a island that in the middle of no where fine, peoples souls are traveling around because they have a will to live and create their own bodies….im not buying it…just a dick around way of screwing with everyone…..the real reason has to be far less complex…..I cant watch and wonder who is dead and alive…

1. The Island is a place where mind can manipulate matter.
2. It is possible for a disembodied mind with a strong will to live to create a body for itself.
3. More often, however, Island ”ghosts” are merely external byproducts of acute castaway/survivor psychology.
4. Regardless, these constructs are fundamentally incomplete because they lack souls.

EXAMPLES:
1. Pseudo Christian exists because Jack’s survival demands it; his sense of self as savior/fixer/hero is shaped by his relationship to his father, and more to the point, it is continuously reinforced by his ongoing internal struggle with his daddy issues.
2. Claire died in the attack on her cabin, but Pseudo Claire exists either because her disembodied mind had a strong will to live — or because Baby Aaron needs her for his own survival. Nursing, you know.
3. Locke died in the plane crash, but his mind created a new body, though his soul is trapped in Jacob’s cabin, because LOCKE IS JACOB. Maybe.

so yeah i think she is dead now :S
