Lost Season 4 Season Finale to be 3 Hours Long

E! Online has confirmed that the season finale of Lost season 4 will be a 3 hours and spread out over 3 nights (1 hour each). The first of the 3-part episode will begin on May 15th.

The below is the complete write-up from from E! Online.

It’s official: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Steve McPherson has signed off on Lost’s extraspecial 14th hour this season, which means Lost is getting a three-hour finale! The first hour airs May 15, the second and third hours will air May 29, beginning at 9 p.m. (ABC will still air the finales of Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy on May 22, as expected.)

Word is there are so many big reveals the producers wanted to deliver this season that they felt anything less than a full three-hour finale would have cheated the fans. In fact, I’m hearing that the writers’ draft for the second half of the finale was 80 pages long, which led all parties involved to realize these stories had to be told now. Anything else would have felt like a rip-off for the fans.

Awesome!!! I have been somewhat dissapointed this season because there hasn’t been alot of answers and the plot line has somewhat drifted off of the survivors and focused more on these random freight people and gadgets and gizmos and blah blah blah, but yeah I’m excited to see what happens!!!

no i disagree! i think this season has answered alot and alot more is about to be revieled! 3 hour finale is perfect!

This season has answered a lot of questions. Yet lot remains to be answered. One beauty of lost is it always leaves us intrigued and curious. But i hope we will get all our questions answered

8

So far I think season 4 is great, the only real let down episode for me was Eggtown. I found that one kind of slow, unlike a lot of people on here though I really liked Meet Kevin Johnson, (although driving into to a cargo container is a pretty weak way to try to take your life). Ji Yeon episode was a little weak to I guess.
I like waiting for the answers to a lot of the stuff on the show although I don’t like how a lot of the plot points like the numbers seem to have been completely forgotten about. I wish the writers would try to keep us guessing, not try to make us forget!

i do like season4 but im not happy that its only got a small amount of episodes compared to the other seasons but then agai i guess with the strike over season 5 would probably have alot more episodes but i dont know if i can wait till 2009 for season 5

This season was good because they realised after a poor season 3, they had to start answering questions, else they’ll start to lose even the die hard fans. Granted, we haven’t had many answers yet, but it looks like we’ll get some soon.

i thought season 3 was good, it introduced us to the others and what there about!
i think this season will answer alot and im dyin to find out more about the smoke monster!!!

14

Sky are saying they’ll broadcast it on June one but i wouldn’t hold my breath.

Apparently the final 6 won’t actually make it off the island until the last two hours, they love making us wait!

I think this year has been the absolute best. I mean think about it. The first year was PHENOMINAL - they have kept us on the edge all four years !!! The writers of this show are not only talented but extremely WARPED !!! LOL

16

This is BS - why would they keep moving it around like this and now skipping a week right before the end. What a nightmare.

I LOVE this season!

I think the reason season 4 has been so good is because the producers/writers now know when the show will end. Going into this season, they knew they only had 3 more seasons of 16 episodes each to tell their story, so they didn’t have to drag things out anymore to make the story last for some undetermined length of time. It kind of sucks that they are shorting us by 8 or so episodes each season, but if it helps them stop dragging things out like they did in season 3, I’m all for it!

18

Hey, they only skipped last night because there was a bunch of other TV shows ending, like Grey’s Anatomy. I’m just glad that they added on an extra hour for us, I mean, they owe us after taking away some hours because of the strike…you should be grateful.

Good sources! They confirming something that did not happen. Keep asking that guy for info it’s golden!

20

um, it did happen.

The scene with Jin buying a panda was a FLASHBACK NOT A FLASHFORWARD!
