Now the question is why is he Ben’s spy and what did Ben do to make him spy for him.
KNEW IT, I THINK WE ALL GUESSED IT! BUT HOW DID MICHAEL FIND THE BOAT WITH THE BEARING 325 DEGREES AND FRANK FLEW THE CHOPPER ON A BEARING OF 305 DEGREES? THERES MORE THEN 1 WAY OFF THE ISLAND, MAYBE A SAFER WAY THEN DANIEL KNOWS AND BEN KNOWS IT.
Michael didn’t necessarily find the boat straight after leaving the island. He must have been in contact with Ben before he became a spy on the boat, because he wouldn’t just find it and know himself that he was Ben’s spy. Plus, where has he stuck Walt? I think Ben’s co-ordinates led Michael back to the island and then Ben recruited him, and put him on the boat.
As you can guess throughout this season (and seasons past), Ben has control over everyone. Look at what he did to the original inhabitants, how he’s controlled Julia (remember when she was a spy for him?), how in the flashforwards he works with Sayid even after one of the lines was {paraphrase} “Nothing you could say would ever get me to work for you.”
Obviously there was something that happened to allow Michael off the island – I just hope they answer it.
Thats a good call by Thomas. Ben controls everyone basically. It must have something to do with Walt. Basically Michael sold everyone down the river when he went to search for Walt.
SO
If he is working for ben then one would assume its because of Walt. We never really knew why Walt was so special but I think he himself can see the future….he told locke not to open the hatch, and he said to michael when he said do you wanna stay on the island….no i want to leave we have too (paraphrase).
Just a thought.
Sayid did say to Ben I would sell my sole before helping you and is obviously working for him….maybe in some wierd time travel thing sayid doesnt know ben is that bad guy from the island….

At the moment you can’t put a custom picture next to your name. I do want to make that a feature in the near future.
Right now its just a static image thats put next to everyone’s name. We may look at using a service called Gravatars to do it so everyones can be unique. You’d have to sign up for a free account with them and and upload the picture you want to use. It would then show up here next to each of your comments as long as the email address matches up.

Speaking of the island being special, I have a hunch about it preventing people from aging (okay, I know we saw Ben as a young’n on the island and he is obviously an adult now, but work with me on this..)
Does anyone remember the guy that recruited Juliet in the first place? (I think his name was Richard) Well he was there when Ben was a kid, and it was he who recruited Ben to become one of the hostiles. He didn’t age at all from Ben being a child to recruiting Juliet! Is he dead? Can people on the island not age? Are all the hostiles dead? What is up with that?!
yea i didnt think they were all dead and i know we didnt see him die specifically. what is up with richard? he def did not age his hair just got longer….wierd

In “Through the Looking Glass” Richard asks to go with Ben to intercept Jack and his crew to talk them out of trusting Naomi but Ben orders him to take the rest of the Others to the Temple “as planned.”
The temple is a place that I don’t think was mentioned previous to or after this scene. I would like to think the temple has something to do with the four toed statue foot that Sayid, Sun, and Jin saw. I don’t know of any link between the two other then I would normally relate both with some sort of worship.
I do agree that Ricard does not seem to have aged though.

This show is like crack
your right adam, Lost is just as addicting as crack, but i love it and all the blogs. it is so nice to hear what other people think of what is happening, One question, who or what selected Ben to be the gardian of the island and why?

I agree that it was his plan all along to send the others to the temple. He seems to have an uncanny sense of future events and with the time travel stuff entering into the show now I would not be surprised if he has once or twice traveled himself.

I’ve gotten the sense that Ben is the leader because (before Locke) he seemed to be the only one able to communicate with Jacob. I see Jacob as sort of the overall God/Protector (as far as the island dynamics go) of the island in the others view and also probably has the most knowledge of the island. Ben, not to mention, is a genius when it comes to planning and executing and even when he makes a mistake he had already planned to make that mistake.

WELL I THINK BEN ALREADY HAD PLANS FOR MICHAEL TO BE HIS SPY AND IS USING WALT SO THAT MICHAEL DOES WHAT HE WANTS. I RECKON ITS THE ONLY REASON BEN LET MICHAEL LEAVE AND SOMEWHERE LONG THE LINE WALT WAS TAKEN FROM HIM FOR BLACKMAIL. BEN IS TOO FAR AHEAD OF EVERY1 AND WOULD HAVE NEW MICHALE WAS GOING TO BE PUT ON THAT BOAT AS A SPY. I WONDER HOW THEY ARE COMMUNICATING?
AS FOR THE AGING THING, RICHARD IS THE ONLY 1 WE KNOW OF THATS AGE HAS BEEN AFFECTED AND IT MIGHT HAS SOMETHING TO WITH THE TEMPLE OR SOMETHING ELSE ON THE ISLAND. OR MAYBE YOUR RIGHT AND THEY ARE DEAD, BUT I DONT THINK SO, OR JUST RICHARD COULD BE!

THE HOUSE THAT MILES WENT TO, TO GET RID OF THE SPIRIT DID HAVE A CLUE IN IT. I CANT REMEMBER IT EXACTLY BUT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SPIRITS LAST NAME OR THE LADY THAT CALLED MILES TO GET RID OF IT, (NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE SPIRITS MOTHER). I HAD A LOOK BUT THE CLUE HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF, SORRY.
Did you notice that there were two helicopter landing pads on the freighter! I think it looks like the boat is not originally equiped with pads and that they are put there for the series. This could mean that there is a second helicopter somewhere on the island.
I think naomi came on the second helicopter and that crashed into the sea just before she did an emergency jump out and landed in the tree in the jungle.

Naomi said she was given coordinates and launched grid searches by helicopter from the freighter. The day she reached the island she had just finished a search and was returning to the ship. At a point 80 nautical miles from the ship, the clouds parted and she saw land. As she approached the island, the instruments on the helicopter malfunctioned. Naomi parachuted out of the helicopter, which crashed into the ocean off the coast of the Island.
The main question I have would be was she the only in the helicopter when it went down. She did say to Mikhail when he treated her for her lung puncture that she was not alone(in Portuguese), she might have meant the people back on the ship but I would think that if you are on a search mission you would probably want more then one person the in the helicopter.
Maybe Michael isn’t Ben’s spy and it’s just another Lost writer’s F-U to the viewers. Maybe Michael was picked up by the boat and is being forced to be the janitor in order to get a ride home.
Or maybe he is the spy. Guess we will find out in an episode or 10.
The preview for the next episode answered your question. Yes, Michael (Kevin) is the spy, and he is doing it in order to see Walt again. Ben says that it’s amazing what you’ll do for your child (or something to that effect). I think Walt is still on the island with the group of the Other’s that has the kids from the crash. I wish we had more answers….
