I know some of you are in NY - got any recommendations on places to eat in Manhattan?

there is a place called butter…..its nice eat there.
damn man lost is sooo wikid cnt w8 till friday (im in the uk and it dsnt premiere till sunday) so what do u fink is gonna happen in lost episode 8?
I bet the flashbacks will all be about what Micheal did during season 4. I love this season.
I’m wondering where is Walt? Love this show.
i bet the flashbacks will be about michael leaving the island, going home, ben contacting him, michael getting on board with the freighter people, and walts whereabouts.
Anyone else??
Alos, in downtown Manhattan there is a little italian place called pizzini’s AWESOME food. Try the Chicken Primavera, you will find it quite delectable.
I have managed to get all the seasons in boxsets here is RSA but am so hooked that I cant wait, so I have had to get Season 4 by other means. No problem, I am up to date and watch each episode twice, scour these pages (thanks Scott) and lie awake at night thinking about it. I can’t wait to meet Kevin Johnson . My latest train of thought goes like this…Faradays experiment, escape bearings, Time lapses, Seeing the future, Desmond, Winkolski, Regina and Michaels comment in the preview. Oh well i cant wait!!
Ha Ha just saw that my post came in at 7:26…but its 14:30 here…sound familiar??
A thought has just come to me!!!
If Charles Widmore has put a plane in the sea with all the 324 dead passangers, why does Jack in court(eggtown episode) tell the judge that Kate rescued people and pulled them away from the wreckage and out of the sea?? Just a thought! More twists hey!
Trooper - I dont think its Widomore that has set up the fake plane with the 324 dead passengers. The captain said “it took mr widmore considerbale amount of his resources to get hold of the black box”. To me that implies somebody else has set it up and the authorities didnt want to release the box.
Its a good point about the numbers of passengers since the real world was told all 324 were found dead about 2 months after the crash. But now (we dont exactly when) they know 8 survived (Ocenaic 6 + further 2 died on the island). twist after twist.
Im confused about the “Oceanic 6″ theory.
If they were 6 (+ 2 died on the island) I guess it means when Jack saw the coffin in the last ep of 3rd season was one of the 6 because they weren’t on the island any more when that someone died.
So I guess it means they are only 5 now, right?
I think it’s possible Hurley went nuts and died because he felt guilty (from when Charlie appeared to him in the mental hospital).
how did widmore get the black box, if the plane crashed very close to the island…maybe someone on the island sold it to him or its fake…also how can jack (in a flashfoward) claim that there were survivors after the televised ‘find’ of plane with 324 bodies? strange show…
There is a possibility that Ben staged the plane wreckage on the bottom of the ocean(I think this is what the captain of the Frieghter was trying to say). He had access to the black box as we know the front section actually crashed somewhere on the island(remember the piliot getting killed by the smoke monster thing). It also makes sense that he would stage the wreckage so that people wouldn’t continue looking for it, since people looking for it may accidentally find the island(rememeber Naomi found it by doing grid searches.
The body’s could be from the purge although there is the decay problem as those bodies would probably be far too decayed to be beliveable as recent plane crash survivors.
As for the Oceanic 6/8. I don’t know if the person in the casket has to be one of the oceanic 6. On December 7, 2007, executive producer Carlton Cuse confirmed that the person in the coffin is a character that the audience has seen before. As season four started in January of 2008 it would have to be someone from the first three seasons.
I think it is one of the others (specifically Juliet). If one of the oceanic six survived the crash only to die a little while later I think the news would be all over that and hence Jack wouldn’t have been the only visitor.
with michael, im pretty sure he had 2 have reached main land when he left the island because I don’t think the guys on the freighter would have just taken him on board if they found him in the sea….also i think he made a deal with Ben, that he would take Walt back home and then he would have to come back to the island and sacrifice his own life in one way or another…which would explain why he said to Sayid ‘I’m here to die’…..only problem with this theory is it doesn’t explain how Locke saw Walt when he was in the mass grave after Ben shot him….any ideas
i think Walt and Michael have been goin back and forth to the island for some time, with the others, and dont know the reason for this just my thought! i think walt has a much bigger part to play in the whole lost world
Here’s what I have gathered
1. Ben set up the plane wreckage so people wouldnt look for it and accidentaly “happen” upon the island.
2. Michael is working for ben just as we see Sayid working for ben in one of the flashforwards. Which is why he is on the boat “spying”
3. The person in the coffin, this is a real trick isn’t it. Jack is shaken by it but Kate seems to strongly dislike him/her. So she either has strong disregards for hurley, sayid, or sun later in the show and that’s who is in the coffin. I think it would most likely be sayid/ Hurley had family and sun had her father and all. Sayid had no one in america, he never found his love, and he works for ben (which kate probably did not like). So, if sayid is in the coffin, that would make the most sense, even though logic doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to lost lol.
4. The bodies could not have been from the purge because john was laying in the ditch with them. It has been made clear that Ben has “Resource’s” and would have many ways of making it happen.
i think it is also juliet in the coffin….think it would have to be someone not in the crash with kate and who she like someone else said has dislike for. julz makes sense because of the jack juliet kate love triangle. plus i htink julz true true colors are yet to be shown….at some point i think she comes out of this alive but doing something tricky or sneaky that jack doesn’t like or the group as a whole….which would be why noone shows up.
but it is lost so it could be anything……
I know this is not about Michael, but did anyone know “John Locke” thought of the idea of seperation of powers (trias politica)?
To control each other and avoid the concentration of power (executive, legislative and judicial), so that every power has it’s own independence and tasks, which is important to make a society succesful and closer.
Does anyone think they used this person as a base for John Locke in lost? Atm it seems like he is concentrating the power on himself, so will he still stay succesful or not?
I’m finally back from NY and just checked out “Meet Kevin Johnson”. I think this is one of my favorite episodes all season. Except for the ending - I thought it just ended really abruptly.
I’ll be doing my full recap, but in the meantime what did you guys think about Michael’s flashbacks and Sayid being a tattle tell?
i dont know about this episode….i thought it was weak. thought they didnt answer anything…..the first ten minutes was a replay from last week and they dont say anything about michael getting off they pick it up with him being secretive about being back. how did he get back lets hear something from walt they hyped it and said someone would die and they kill off rouseau and that other dork….that was weak. i guess the 6 are aaron kate jack sun hurley and sayid tho…..
True, I wish they had gone into at least some detail about leaving the island. While nothing currently going on was really answered, everyone has been wondering what Michael has been up to and how he came to be on the boat. Now we know. He’s been feeling guilty about killing Anna and Libby and he even admitted it to Walt. I think it was a necessary episode.
Trooper/Sambo - It seems that it wasn’t Widmore who set it up, it was Ben, that’s what the captain of the boat told Sayid and Des anyway. That’s why they are looking for him.
Ana Castro/Bodhi: If it was one of the Oceanic 6 in the coffin, I think there would be a lot more people there (including the media) because it seems that they are pretty famous after they get back.
Melissa……”John Locke” also had a philoshy on Anarchy…
I agree with Adam to a certain extent… The episode was kind of boring. I only say this because the Lost creators have been hyping this episode up since last summer. However Scott, I also agree with you that it was important…(LOL how about Mr. Friendly actually being mooore then “friendly”.) Great charactor development with the opening up in Mr. Friendly’s “indulgencies”. Like Hurley said in season 2..”Didn’t see that coming”.
The reality is the actor who plays Walt has grown up..(A LOT). It would have been rather difficult to shoot shots of them on the boat or docking or walking around the the city….or engaging in some sort of conversation in a flash back….WHY??? Again…his size. If Lost would have went that route what would people be saying or asking for that matter????
-How is it that Walt could get taller in a couple
of days?
-Did Walt get big because of some time warp thing?
Come on now y’all lets think about this rationally. We all know this an obsticle of child actors in rolls that expand over the years on a show….THEY GROW UP… Except for Emanual Lewis, and Gary Coleman.
How about the writters not being able to resist…”But Walt IS my Son…It’s a FATHER’S right!”
I also agree with Kat. I believe it was not one of the Oceanic 6 in the coffin. If so…the media would have been there or something to that effect. My guess is that it’s Kate’s mom since the lady was or is for that matter all ready on her way out.
I admired how they are starting to suggest even more…the Ben is actually “one of the good guys”. But hey this could be a set up. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Don’t count out Mr. Paik and his role in future episodes.

my point was that; if the ‘wreckage’ was found around 2 months after the crash (as per michael/kevin’s flashback) including all the bodies then how can an ‘oceanic 6′ exit? the world believes everyone on the plane died, right?
Also since the plane crashed so close the island only ben is likely to have gotten his hands on the black box (he knows the island and he can come and leave as he wants)…and if he did get the black box then how did widmore get it?
guys, this episode just sucked.
Why do you think it sucked? Sure, it wasn’t action packed but it answered most of what we wanted to know about Michael. It answered who put the plane at the bottom of the ocean. It answered where the bodies came from that were put in the plane. Nerdy Karl got shot, dirty Russou got shot. Ben shows why he is the mastermind and has gone from being locked up in a cell to having everyone protect him.
What more did you want from it?
yea this episode answered almost nothing and killed characters for the most part we didnt care about. I think the michael storyline was necessary but the way they did it wasnt good enough for me. could have gone bigger with it. only thing we got is certain peoplee are safe at the temple cause the guy told michael when asked you can just come and go as you please “some of us can”. im assuming of course the temple is where they can come and go from. could have done more about some of the un answered big topics that we dont know about….storyline how walt doesnt like michael cause he told him what he did was weak and i thought nothing was accomplished but more questions
i dont think that the temple is where they can come and go from, or at least i hope not….as i understand it,the temple is somewhere inland on the island….so what way could they come and go from there?…if its teleporting or something similar it would ruin the storyline…..also I reckon that Walt was taken back to the island in the time that Michael has been on this freighter, because he cant just fade out of the storyline this easy…there is something more to him
this episode was poor. it was nearly all a flashback, i didnt like that
Does anyone remember how the others told Michael that his son had “special powers.” I think that Walt can appear to antyone he wants too at anytime.
Please Scott, Can I have the full recap asap, I cannot wait until sunday/Lost UK to find out what you guys are talking about…
My theory is the person in the coffin at the end of series 3 is Ben !!! Jack says he was not a friend and no one turns uo to the funeral . We know Ben is off the island from the flash forward’s with Sayid.
Also from one of the first episodes in Se4 when hurley is in the mental hospital and Jack comes to see him he says to Hurley he is thinking about growing a beard end of series 3 when jack seems to loose the pot he has the beard.
do we know a timeline of when the death is too how long they are off the island….scott can we get a post so that some of us can sort out the flash fowards and try to put them in order….obviously sun is only a few months from getting off the island because of the birth….but how about the other people?
to answer my questioners above as to why the episode sucked:
-Ok, if you couldn’t figure out Widmore put the plane there on his own, shame on you
-It just didn’t have a big twist. Nothing was there that LOST usually smacks the viewers in the face with before they take a big break.
-Oh, Russou and Karl got shot…. somebody tell me when we’ve cared about Russou and Karl all season?
-I didn’t mind that the hole thing was a flashback, but somethings characters did bothered me. Like Sayid completely ratting out Michael could have been his worst and most irrational move so far(we’ll see hat happens here soon). And damnit Alex had to just give in like that, the island is in serious $()!^.
On a final kinda positive note, the only thing i liked about the episode was now we know the island has total control of somethings (like Michael’s life). How?Why? Idk, I just thought that part was pretty cool.
I don’t think there is enough information that we can truly figure out who is in the coffin for sure at this point.
However, I can tell you that we will know who is in the coffin by the end of Season 4.
I don’t think it’s Ben in the coffin. He’s far too important a character to be killed off, especally if we find out it’s him at the end of the season. What would happen next season? Can’t wait to find out who it is though!
I’m a bit confused by the whole writers’ strike thing. Was this the last episode before the break, and how many episodes are after the break? And how long is the break? I feel withdrawal symptoms kicking in already!
I agree with Harrison. I will add that they did get me with the whole flashforward/flashback of Michael. At first I thought it was the same time frame as Kate’s etc. The whole “the island won’t let you kill yourself” kind of ticks me off.
I was pretty disappointed by ths one myself. For a mid-season ender, there wasnt really anything to shock us. Ji Yeon would have been a better episode to have as the mid-season ender, as it had more elements that i feel are now required, and a great closing scene.
Yeah, this episode answered a few of the smaller questions that bugged us, but it was pretty easy to figure out what was gonna get micheal back on the boat from the get go. Only part i liked was when sayid handed micheal over, just because it was completely unexpected. After two good episodes in a row, a poor finish i thought.
i think that it is very possible that the temple Ben is speaking about is actually underground, where the black smoke seems to live, we know the black smoke doesnt want to kill Locke as he is a good person. The next episode has to reveal more about the others and this so called temple
scott can u pleas help me to understand the future thing in lost. is it the actual future or is it what might happen later on or a flash foward.
James -
As far as we know the future is really happening. They are flashfowards and are glimpses in to what will come to happen. However with Lost, I’ve learned to just watch and enjoy the show, because once you think you have it figured out, your theory is turned inside out and upside down.
