Ji Yeon Recap | Lots of Stuff Happened

Whether you liked the episode or not, you have to admit there were quiet a few questions answered in the episode. This episode was planned to be the mid-season cliffhanger due to the writers strike. Lucky for us all that business has been settled and we get a few more weeks worth of episodes.

As usual, my recap will not be in the order the scenes were shown. I like to group the events together to make everything that happened a little more clear for everyone.

Lets start with the freighter
We see Frank who is confronted and asked if he is ready. Frank simply responds I’ll be up. What I got from this is that Frank is none to excited about what he is going to have to do, and its going to be early in the morning when he does it.

Frank continues on his way to see Desmond and Sayid who are now being guarded in their room since they snuck out to visit the control room. The person guarding the door is none other than Regina. If you don’t recall, Regina is the lady who was taking the phone calls from Naomi on the island. Regina doesn’t look so good as she’s half asleep and her book she is “reading” is upside down. She seems a bit jumpy when Frank tells her he’s brought food for the boys (some yummy lima beans). He apologizes for the poor food, and says there was a problem in the kitchen.

The next morning, Sayid and Desmond are discussing their dislikes of lima beans when suddenly a note is slipped through the door. Sayid reads the note and it says, “Don’t trust the captain”. To me it looks like the note is written by a 3rd grader with a shaky hand. Many people are guessing that Ben’s spy left the note, but I’m not one to go along with the crowd. I’m going to out on a limb and say it was Regina. More on this guess in a second.

The doc comes to inform Des and Sayid that the captain wants to see them. Is it just me or does this doctor look like Slugworth from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

Anyway, he takes them outside and they notice the helicopter is gone. Apparently Frank’s mission involved flying somewhere – back to the island maybe?

While on their way to see the captain, Desmond notices that Regina is walking towards the edge of the boat wrapped up in chains. She willingly jumps over the edge and sinks like a rock. The captain comes out in all the commotion and orders no one to go after her. He tells Desmond and Sayid that he didn’t want to lose anyone else. He says she jumped overboard because of a heightened case of cabin fever. I think this was a lie, and hence my guess that Regina is the one that left the note. I think there is more going on aboard that boat than has been let on and Regina couldn’t take it anymore. We’ll see who’s right or wrong in time I suppose.

Captain Gault tells Sayid and Des that they cant move because there is someone on the boat sabotaging the boat (I wonder if it could be Ben’s spy). He then tells them that his orders are coming from Charles Widmore, and this gives Desmond quite a shock. Gault doesn’t seem surprised by his reaction, and takes them down to his quarters to discuss things a little further.

Gault pulls out the black box, which is a flight data recorder. He informs them that it is from Oceanic flight 815 that was found at the bottom of the ocean with 324 dead bodies. Gault says Mr. Widmore obtained the black box through the use of many resources. He also questions the kind of man that has access to 324 dead bodies to stage the plane crash. Gault tells them that this is one of the many reasons they are after Benjamin Linus. My initial thought was that Ben helped stage the crash and the 324 dead bodies came from the mass killings of the others by Ben. Just a guess, I have nothing really to back that up.

Once they are done talking (surprisingly Desmond does not ask more about Widmore being the owner of the ship), the guys are lead back down to their new room by the doc. They open the door and find a blood splatter on the wall and the doc seems angry that it is still there. Whose bloodstain and why its there is unclear at this point. The doc calls for Kevin Johnson to come clean it up. We see a man slowly walking down the hall and step cautiously into the light. Ben’s spy is finally revealed to be none other than our long lost friend Michael. Obviously Desmond and Sayid are surprised to see him, but all 3 hide the fact from the doctor that they know each other. It’s pretty obvious he is lying about his identity to the crewmembers since he has changed his name. This signals to Sayid and Desmond that he is Ben’s spy and they play along.

Phew! That was a lot happening on the Freighter. Lets move on to the island events. I’m going to summarize this section much more concisely as it wasn’t all that interesting and not a whole lot really happened.

On to the Island Events
Sun and Jin are talking about naming their baby, and Sun forbiddingly makes a comment that planning a baby’s name this early was bad luck. This to me was a bit of foreshadowing to what we would eventually see happen to Jin at the end of the episode. Jin tells Sun that he believes it will be a girl and he wants to name her Ji Yeon.

Now talking to Kate, Sun is told that Charlotte hit Kate in the back of the head on the way to the Tempest station to deactivate the gas. Sun finally gets the hint that these people aren’t there to rescue them. She confronts Daniel about why there are there and if they plan to rescue them. Daniel simply says “its not my call”. When Sun asks whose call it is Daniel simply doesn’t answer. This confirms in Suns mind that she no longer trusts them and she wants to get as far away from them as possible.

Sun tells Jin to pack for 2 days because they were going to Locke’s camp. Juliet finds out about it and does everything she can to stop her from leaving. She knows if she joins Locke that she won’t get off the island and she will die in pregnancy. Sun and Jin are not to be persuaded to Juliet pulls out her Ace in the Hole. She tells Jin that Sun had an affair, which halts Jin in his tracks. He goes with fishing with Bernard to think things through.

Juliet apologizes to Sun and said that she had to stop them from leaving at all costs and proceeds to convince Sun that getting of the island is their main goal, and these people are their best shot since they have a helicopter.

Jin comes back and he and Sun hug it out and Jin forgives her. He says that what she did was to a man that he used to be and he is no longer that man. He tells her that he will do anything to protect her and the baby. I think this to be a little more foreshadowing to what we see happen to Jin in a few minutes.

On to the flash-forwards
Sun and Jin’s flash forwards were both going on at the same time and flashing back and forth between the two. Watching it you were lead to believe that the events were going on simultaneously.

First we start with Suns. She is getting dressed and ready to go out somewhere when she starts having stomach pains. She calls the hospital and tells them that she needs an ambulance. This is our cue that Sun is the next member of the Oceanic 6.

Once in the hospital, they give her pain medication, and the doctor tells her the baby is in distress. Jin begins calling Jin’s name and wanting him to be with her. Remember that she is now on pain medication and not all her lights are on up stairs. We will soon find out that it will not be possible for Jin to be there with her.

The baby cant wait to get out into the real world any longer and Sun begins to deliver. In what must be a Guinness World Record, sun gives birth in about 8 seconds to a baby girl.

Skipping over to Jin’s flashforward. Jin is at a toy store buying a giant sized Panda on his way to the hospital. He receives a call asking where he is and if he’s on his way to the hospital. Presumably, it’s Sun, a doctor or relative. This isn’t the case though. Turn’s out, from my super deductive reasoning abilities, that it is actually his boss Mr. Paik.

Jin goes out and catches a cab and puts the Panda in, but another man jumps in and steals his cab. Jin runs after it yelling that he will hunt him down and rip his head off. This doesn’t sound like the gentle Jin that we have come to know on the island. Seems like something he would have said pre-island when he was working for Mr. Paik and killing people.

Jin goes back to get another Panda, but they are sold out. The cashier tries to sell him a dragon saying that it brings good luck in the year of the dragon. If you’re not familiar with the year of the dragon, it was actually in the year 2000. This is a big hint that Jin’s flash-forward is actually a flash back and he is not on his way to the hospital to see his new daughter. Jin ends up paying a lot of money for a panda that was on hold for someone else. Many people are asking the significance of the panda. We will cover that in a moment.

Finally at the hospital, Jin takes the Panda and presents to a guard standing out side of the newly born granddaughter of the ambassador of China. He tells the guard that the panda is a gift from Mr. Paik and that he wants to do business in China. This is the significance of the Panda. The Panda is a classic symbol of China and Mr. Paik is trying to get on his good side so that he can do business in his country. On Jin’s way out of the hospital the nurse asks why he is leaving so soon. The second big tip off that this is a flashback is that Jin’s response is the baby wasn’t his, he’s only been married two months.

Back to Sun’s flash forward. We see her getting ready again and the doorbell rings. It’s lovable Hurley all spiffy in a suit. When I saw him standing there I for some reason immediately thought the baby was his. I don’t know why I just did. Hurley then asks her if anyone else was coming and when Sun says no Hurley responds with a weird creepy voice saying “goooooooood”. This further lead me to believe the baby was his and he was there for round 2 of some Sun loving. This of course is not his baby, but I’m still interested in to why he said goooood the way he did when he found out no one else would be coming.

Hurley says they should go and see him and Sun agrees. We see them in a cemetery and it turns out they are there to visit Jin’s grave. Sun talks to the grave saying that Jin was right and that it was a girl. This means Jin was dead prior to the birth of his daughter. So when did he die? If you look closely at the grave you’ll see that the date of death is September 22, 2004 – The same day as the crash of Oceanic flight 815. What in the world is up with that?

What that says to me is that either Jin died on the island one way or another, or he is still alive on the island and Sun had to leave him behind for some reason and they faked his death saying he died in the crash. If you remember back to my comment about Jin saying he would do anything to protect Sun and the baby my guess is that he was killed on the island in some way trying to protect her. I think we will see him die soon due to the DUI he received in real life in Hawaii. The Lost writers have a way of killing off everyone who’s gotten a DUI. First it was Anna Lucia, then Mr. Eko, and now I think poor Jin will die on the island as well and the death will be covered up by saying he died in the crash.

What do you guys think the story behind Jin’s death is? Who do you think the final Oceanic 6 are? How do you think Michael ended up on the boat and how is he relaying information to Ben since he is spying for him?

What I think, is that Charles Widmore is actually the leader of the Dharma Initiative, we already know the Dharma Initiative at some time operated outside of the island, due to seeing the Dharma symbol around the neck of a polar bear on the outside world.

So I think Widmore is going to the island to wage war against the Others, in revenge for having the others kill off his Dharma post on the island. The 324 dead bodies the captain of the freighter mentions refers to the 324 people Ben killed using the gas. That would also explain how Daniel and Charlotte knew about the gas and wanted to disarm it so desperately.

I’m pretty sure, taht towards the end of the season, the survivors of the plane crash will get caught up in some type of war betwen Widmore and the others, and that only the Oceanic Six will elave the island, while everyone else will stay on the island fighting. Widmore will cover it all up by saying that everyone died in the initial crash except for the Oceanic six. That is why Jin’s death date was the day of the crash, that is why Jack testified in court that they were the only survivors, but in the end of season 3 said he was sick of lying, and that is why in Hurley’s hallucination, Charlie swam up in the fishtank, and written on his hand were the words, “they need you”, it’ll refer to the survivors of the plane crash needing help in the war. That also may be why Naomi mentioned in her flashback, that the island was high pressure territory or whatever.

Well, i guess Jin was left at the island and they claimed that he died in the crash. They must’ve left him for some reason, maybe he just decided to stay behind with Locke or maybe he had to stay there in order for Sun and the baby to go back home. I am sure he is still on the island in the future. Or maybe he was left behind to help protect the other survivors of the crash and they all were promised to be rescued later right after the oceanic six. But you guys never mentioned anything about Sun asking Ferreday about whether his people are going to rescue them or not. He said that it wasn’t his call, and when she asked him again he didn’t reply.. I am really starting to doupt whether the oceanic six will be rescued by the people on the boat or by some other way..

  3. Scott

    Agent,

I mentioned the fact that Sun confronted Daniel in the original post. I think I kind of agree with you that the Oceanic 6 wont get off the island via the freighter. I think they will end up getting off in another manor.

  4. karen

I thought this episode was so… moving… i actually cried a little in the end when we discover that Jin’s dead… and bravo the producers to mix the flashbacks and forwards on this one; the result was successful !

I was disappointed to see that desmond did not ask anymore questions nor show more astonishment when he discovered that Ch.Widmore was behind the freighter. Ok there are answers to questions on this episode, important answers such as Michael and widmore, but it did open more questions like why did regina kill herself, who the heck what that blood stain from, where was the noise on the boat coming from and what was it and where did the helicopter leave !? And i would really like to know more about this plane crash scenario! I dont think that Ben planned for Oceanic 815 to crash because it was a bit Desmond’s fault ! well maybe he planned it AFTER the plane crashed!

    I particularly liked this episode… poor Sun… so sad….

  5. Scott

Karen – I think the noises heard on the boat were coming from the person sabotaging the boat that the captain spoke of. Sayid made a comment about it not being mechanical. I think it was Michael doing something to the engine.

  6. cindylouhoo

I thought this was a sad episode as well. I’m wondering if Jin is still alive on the island. Sun had to get off of the island in order to save the baby.
Jin was in a tough situation regarding life before the island because of his situation w/Sun’s father. When he was in the airport restroom he encountered a man employed by Mr. Paik, speaking Korean, who warned him not to attempt to escape his current life; otherwise, there would be consequences. Dying on flight 815 would allow him to be free from the clutches of Sun’s father. This would explain the date on the tomb stone saying that it was the day of the crash. That might be why the flashback was there, to remind us of what his life was like before going to the island. Sun & Jin’s relationship was healed during their time on the island. It was about to be split-a-part before they boarded the plane. They wouldn’t want to go back to that life. They will plan to somehow reunite. I’m just hoping that Jin isn’t in hiding somewhere and ends up being the person in the coffin. I hope we’ll see them together again. I just wonder why Hurley was there to go w/Sun to “see him”. If it was planned beforehand to make it real for those who would be watching. There are always tons of questions after an episode of Lost. We receive a few answers and end up with even more that we need answers to.

  7. JasonL

Other than thinking about conflict between the others and Mr. Widmore, I started to think about relationship between Sun’s father and Widmore.

According to comments of previous episode, Oceanic Six were being watched. I guessed Sun was being spied on also. Just before her labour, the nurse behind told another colleague that Sun was one of the Oceanic Six. This gave me the clue to my guess.
Then, I remembered that Sun’s father was also a powerful man, too. Did he compromise with Widmore to “look after” his daughter?

And I thought Jin was actually dead. The black suit worn by Hugo and Sun, and the “Jinx” stuff that Sun had mentioned before have given my the proof. Regarding Jin’s death, I thought the Widmore’s crews were to be blamed. Ben were using people to achieve his goal (except Goodwin who he jealous of) but he had never killed anyone. In contrary, Widmore crews were not shocked when people died and even given straight order to kill everyone left on the island. I thought Jin was dead while protecting Sun and his baby from the people on the freighter.

Concerning the way to escape from the island ,I doubted they would get away by the frieghter. As I mentioned above they were here to search (Ben) and kill (the rest), the Oceanic six should have gone back with Ben(somehow his had another way to get back). This might also explain why Ben could get away from the Island without caught by Widmore.

  8. Nick Payne

I think there is a LOST “Illuminati” between several of the main character’s fathers. Thereare very subtle hints at links between them. One example would eb the fact that several of them have the same expensive when it comes to their preferance for Scotch – McCutcheon. I believe they include:

I hadn’t originally thought that Widmore was originally tied up with Dharma… I think the Island goes through cycles of takeovers. Hanso discovered it when he read the Black Rock’s log book. Then he founded Dharma. Hanso died and his property was put up for auction (including the Black Rock logbook). Widmore has heard tales of the Island and getting hold of the logbook is the Rosetta Stone that starts him down the path to bidding for control of it. Even with his resources it still takes him 8 years.

Meanwhile on the Island, the Others (who may have been in custody of the Island prior to Dharma), again take control through Ben’s betrayal… then the cycle continues and the Losties overthrow the Others.

Now you mention a possible connection between Widmore and Dharma, it does sound very plausible. How else would Widmore’s team know so uch about Ben, when he pretty much deserted civilization in his youth. Their knowledge of him may very well be tied to his genocide of the Dharma people.

    Lots to chew over here.

  9. black foxx

i will reveal the last person of the oceanic 6

    SAWYER

we know that people who are affected by the electromagnetism find it difficult to get back and forth from the island. lets go back to end of series 2 (i think) the hatch blows up and electromagnetism is released across island.
all losties were affected by the electromagnetism exept for 7!

    these 7 being

kate, jack, hurley and sawyer, who were on some sort of bridge/raft with bags over there heads captured by ben.

and also sun, jin and sayid who were on a boat waiting for the others to go back to camp, so they can invade it

which brings us to believe that these 7 were not affetced by the electromagnetism and are all (apart from jin who will die with his DUI) the oceanic 6

u herd it from me first

  10. black foxx

actually having thought about it, the last person of the oceanic 6 could also be michael, as he was also with jack, sawyer, kate and hurley on his bought getting ready to leave

    michael or sawyer

im sorta swaying towards michael as i believe kate will eventually choose jack over sawyer which will make him not want to leave the island

  11. Max Power

Or why not Walt? Although this might be a problem because of the actors aging.

  12. Jones

I actually had the same thought of Sun and Hurley getting together and that the baby was Hurley’s, until he started saying how the baby looked like Jin. I did find the “goood” comment very strange too, almost like it was their plan to stay away from each other or something, maybe since they are being watched as someone mentioned earlier.
I think Jin is still alive. I think that Sun asking for them to call Jin is a big tell. Since she was on medication and didn’t totally have her wits about her she asked for Jin forgetting that she is suppose to pretend he is dead to protect him. God knows that I have let some stuff slip when I have been under the influence.
As for the mock plane on the ocean floor, I was orginally thinking it was Ben also, He had access to all the bodies of the purge, the only thing is that the body they showed on the news (the pilot) seemed to not be as decayed as what the bodies from the purge would have been. Makes me think that it couldn’t be those bodies.

  13. adam

maybe when they were stealing the people from each of the camps for the first season and a half they were getting them for the fake plane crash. So that there were actual bodies from the plane on board. They always were taking people that were “on the list” i could have missed something that makes this not possible but im not sure.

jins thing was a def flashback and i think he probably dies at some point but he could very well still be alive on the island. anything is really possible on this show

  14. sambo

What about Regina who jumped off the boat? She was the one who took the call from the island on the telephone that NOBODY was supposed to use. “Why are you calling on this line?”
I think this is what made her go loopy talking to the island not on a safe line!

  15. mcgibbon

wow. just finished episode and turns out i have the same birthday as Jin. now I am all freaked out about numbers. i’ll get over it. cheers!

  16. cindylouhoo

It would be easier to figure out how the bodies got in the plane if we knew who put them there. At this point, we still don’t know who to believe. Ben or the new people (Charlotte, Miles, captain…). And which of them are the good guys? If there are any. They all have their own agenda, but who’s side would you pick to be on? And then there is Widmore….
We’ve been told that the Orchid Training Video is something that gives insight into the workings of Lost, maybe the people on that plane could be brought to the island without much effort (if you knew what you were doing). Just like that rabbit appeared from no where.

Also, about Ben being rescued – as his many passports showed, he has been coming & going as much as he wanted to w/out having to be rescued by someone. I’m sure he has dealings with many people and has many spies off the island. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see flashbacks that are redone to show him being somewhere along with the characters of Lost. Similar to the scene that was shown on “The Other Woman” when Harper & Goodwin were added in the part showing the plane coming down and Ben sending Goodwin to the tail section to check it out. It wasn’t done that way in the original scene. Who knows, maybe Ben is the person who was driving the bus that ran over Juliets ex husband so she’d be free to accept the job offer.

One thing that has been bugging from that episode too is when Harper told Juliet that Ben was “right where he wanted to be”, regarding being locked up as a prisoner with Locke & those guys. It made me think back to when we first saw Ben – but we were introduced to him as Henry Gale. He was in one or Rousseau’s traps and she was giving him over to the losties kindof begrudgingly. She had said that she had never seen an “Other”, only heard their voices. But she said so casually that he was an other. W/out having any experiences with them, how could she say who he was?
Maybe he was “right where he wanted to be” then too. This put him in the same situation, being locked up in the hatch keeping close to his enemies so he could manipulate them and know what their next move was. I don’t think we’ve been given the whole story w/he & Rousseau. She seems much too comfortable around him, inspite of him stealing her baby and robbing her of those many years with her daughter. (There was that one time when Ben referred to Alex as his daughter and Rousseau hit him and said, “She’s not your daughter!” But nothing else has been said.)
Things don’t seem right. She didn’t want to take Sayid’s invitation to go to the beach with him and be around all of the survivors, saying her place was in the shelter that she built. Now she is following Locke & those guys, living at the compound as if nothing ever happened. I think there is more to the story. I kept waiting for Alex & Rousseau to have this reunion type experience and talk about things, it was her long lost daughter. You’d think there would be more emotion & words spoken at some point. They are shown in the same place and it is business as usual. Like they are just 2 people in the crowd…

Just a quick query not sure if anyone can answer. Why is there three dates on the head-stone?

To the left there is: 20/03/1980
To the right there is: 27/11/1974
The furthest to the right there is: 22/09/2004

I assumed that the two dates to the right are birth and death so whats the first date mean? Not used to reading head-stones so if someone could put me out my misery.

  18. chris

Sorry, worked it out myself, its Sun’s birth date :)

  19. Jones

    cindylouhoo:
I had another post on here somewhere discussing the same thing about ben and his first capture. For the short version of it, it is suggested and I think it is true that Ben intentionally got himself caught. At that point he was after viewing the losties through the pearl station monitors he knew that Jack was a spinal surgeon (and low and behold he had cancer on his spine). They also had Walt at this time and Ben went there with the intentions of using Michael, which ended up in the capture of Jack, Kate, and Sawyer.
As for Rousseau and Alex, I do find that kind of strange also. But if she was taken a few months after birth then maybe they never had much of a connection and Alex doesn’t feel that Rousseau (who I might add seems pretty crazy now, would you want her to be your mother haha) is her mother. Although I don’t think the show has taken us in this direction yet just my general feeling.

What I think of the storylines going dead for a while is that they still have two seasons after this season to bring it all together. In the end I think it is all going to come together, from the first show to the last, and this will be one of the best series to own so that you can keep going back and making those connections.

  20. Kat

It just seems that for some reason, there will be very limited spaces to get off the island (due to the escape route being a helicopter or the like). This is why people were split up (i.e. Jin & Sun, Claire & Aaron).

  21. cindylouhoo

Thank you Jones, for your comments. I agree, it is probably impossible to give us something about each storyline, there are so many. And Rousseau is quite a trip. How could you not love this show? I’ve never seen so many people talking and researching a show like this. The writers have done an incredible job. With all of the tidbits outside of the show it makes it even more intriguing.
You mentioned that they have 2 seasons left, are they only making 2 more after season 4? I’m late getting started on the whole Lost thing. We were in the process of moving and there was about a month delay in getting our satellite tv transfered over. We only had our cable/internet to keep us entertained during those sleepless nights after being tired from moving. I thought, “what the heck, I’ll check out the first episode of Lost to see what the big fuss is about…”. We were hooked instantly and wondered how we could have missed this one. It is now our favorite show & we plowed through the first 3 seasons and then counted down the days until season 4 started.

I was wondering if something else might have been mentioned before. After seeing the episode w/Kate & Aaron it got us thinking about so many things. One thing that came up was about Claire, when she went to the psychic in Australia. He warned her about the danger surrounding her baby and said that she must be the only one to raise this baby. That it could not be raised by another. In fact, I think the episode was “Raised by another”. It puts a twist on things if you thought it might be “Raised by an Other”. If the psychic was valid and isn’t connected in any other storylines, he might have gotten it right but it was translated to him out of context. What are your thoughts?

I’m so happy about finding this forum. The people posting on this forum are awesome! Thanks to you all.

  22. Jones

    cindylouhoo:
As I understand it there are going to be 6 seasons in total and I think the writers have publicly stated that season six will be the final season.
About the Psychic Richard Malkin, he also met Mr.Eko. After Malkin’s daughter had a near-death experience, Eko came to investigate the “miracle” for the Church, and Malkin admitted to Eko that he was a fraud as a psychic. (I think that was in the episode “?”) As I remember though he could have said he was a fraud to keep Eko away from his daughter as he wouldn’t let them talk.
By the way I mentioned it on this site before but there is a site http://www.lostpedia.com that is excellent for getting all kinds of info. It is losts own online encyclopedia.

  23. cindylouhoo

I love lostpedia. It has been a great resource. I wondered about R. Malkin during that episode w/Eko. I was disappointed when he said that he was a fake, but wondered when he was so crazy about Eko not talking to his daughter, Charlotte. She ended up having to find Eko at the airport to talk to him, to give him a message from his dead brother, Yemi. It made me wonder if R. Malkin really was a psychic & knew that there was a lot going on around Eko and felt that he needed to protect his daughter from him. His daughter must have had some special qualities about herself that would make her clairvoyant or something to have had the experience with Yemi, who is dead. And again, the writers found a way to intertwine one character’s life with another through a common contact. Who is Richard Malkin and where does he fit in to the whole big picture. There is potential for a much bigger story. The Dharma group did a lot with clairvoyance & psychic testing. He could be connected somehow or a spy for Ben etc. He was very instrumental in making sure Claire was on flight 815, insisting that it could not be any other flight. His back & forth guidance for Claire was so contradictory that it was hard to follow. First, don’t let another raise your baby (so serious about this that he was calling her at all hours to insist on this being the best for the safety of the baby). And then in the next breath saying that he had a plan, there was a couple that this child needed to go to and that they were in LA and she had to be on 815 only, to get them there. We were led to believe that he knew the plane would go down and that would insure she would be the only one to raise this child. If that is the case, he isn’t a fake. He knew….. It makes it more confusing. Or is he helping Ben or whoever to get yet another body on flight 815 for a reason. It is too convenient that Jack/spine surgeon was on that flight when Ben needed one. And Walt was on the flight. There seemed to be an agenda w/him from the beginning. Are there any other passengers that might have been wanted by Ben or the Island? There is a lot of talk about destiny.

  24. Jean

Is it just me or does Frank resemble John Locke in looks and mannerisms?

  25. Jean

Also was wondering why someone doesn’t ask Ben to take off his shoes and let us see how many toes he has.

Just found these posts, you guys are smart!

maybe he told claire to get on the plane so that aaron could some point end up with kate and eventually her husband….jack? sawyer? someone else?

how did widmore get the black box, if the plane crashed very close to the island…maybe someone on the island sold it to him or its fake…

also how can jack (in a flashfoward) claim that there were survivors after the televised ‘find’ of the plane with 324 bodies? strange show…

The Widmore Corporation are partners on some schemes with the Hanso foundation. The actor who played Mr. Eko actually quit he wasn’t fired from the DUI.

Well, I’m not good as you guys, but I have my thoughts too. :o )

Besides the Oceanic Six, there are two important people that “died” after the crash as Jack said in court. The Oceanic Six, in my opinion was solved at the trailler: Jack, Kate, Hurley, Said, Sun and Aaron (if he counts…). Probably Claire died “in process” to justify the Aaron’s birth. And to justify that Jack has something to do with that because he doesn’t wanna see Aaron.

I thought – until now – that Jin was the other one. But the date on the grave tells another story. I really think that would be great if Jin is still alive. But I think that – if it’s true – Sun doesn’t know about for her own safety.

I still think that they could live the island by the boat or the helicopter. But If they do it won’t be with the original crew. That’s why Widmore’s people untill what to know if there are any survivors.

About diferent agendas and good and bad guys, it’s not surprising. I allways thought that if people in that island communicate with each other we woldn’t have any serie! Everybody – including the survivours – hold information all the time. They never reveal their intentions and what they know even for their “friends”.

    Sorry for the bad english…

Just found this site – brilliant! It’s really helping with LOST withdrawal symptons. I’m new to theorising in public but been reading the recaps and comments (apologies if stuff has mentioned before, I’m sure / or rejected, etc.). Here’s one or two things for anyone who might be able to answer / put to rest…

Why so much interaction with characters prior to 815? E.g., Hurley and Libby in hospital, Jack’s Dad and Anna Lucia, Jack’s Dad and Sawyer,(hell, Jack’s dad and loads of people!), Sawyer & Locke’s father, Kate and Sawyer’s female con partner (forgot her name), Desmond and Charlie, plus loads more. So…

Is Dharma one big ‘virtual’ socialogical experiment they’ve signed up to, perhaps? Inviting people to participate in a rehabilitation scheme, or to play out life mistakes, or even just a game? Are we going to eventually find them taking off head visors and sensor mits when they’ve completed the ‘programme’?

    OR…

Have they died, not from plane crash 815 but from individual deaths on the same day (which will become apparent how, for each character by the end, of course!) and the flight check in starts their afterlife journey, where the island is various stage of pergatory and they’re put to the test to figure out their ‘life lessons’ (hence flash backs/forwards and cross references) and recognise they’ve died? I think they’ve nearly all had ‘near misses’ in their lives leading up to the flight to justify them dying beforehand. Do you think the ‘forward’ flashes are actually reality or may be a parallel life thingy?

    OR…

They DID all crash on flight 815, pure and simple, and those who ‘die’ on the island have either survived the crash and gone back to life, or have resolved their issues and moved on successfully – it’s the ones still on the island who are struggling – let’s face it!

I have more… but I’m worried you’re bored by now.

    Answers please!

what we saw is not a JIN´s flash fwd, i think is a flash back!! bc he says he´s been married for only 2 months and he´s still running errands for Sun´s father.
we´ve become so accostumed to flash fwd that we thought it was one but is a flash back!!!

I just saw this one again last night and I noticed that when Jin is getting ready she casually takes her wedding ring out of the plastic bag that it was put in from the hospital and slides it on. That struck me as really weird. To me a wedding ring is such a strong symbol of the bond of marriage. It was strange 1st off that it was still in the hospital bag, and 2nd that she was so blasé about it. I know she broke down later at the grave but I just thought that whole scene was strange.

Ok, it should say Sun not Jin in my previous post. Sorry, it’s the end of a very long week.

I loved this episode. Amazing. So many answers. Sad. Happy. Everything in Lost combined in one episode. People committing suicide, babies being born, slaps, hugs, funerals, return of annoying fathers, and awesome Sayid and Desmond demanding to see captain. One of the best. Also, great twist at the end with Jin not having a flash forward. Did not see that coming, even though now that i look back there were so many signs. Superb!!!!
