Confirmation on the Oceanic 6 | NO – IT’S NOT BEN

There seems to have been much confusion on who the Oceanic 6 really are. Does Aaron count? Could it be Ben, Juliet, or Desmond? Is it Jin who was just pretending to be dead? NO.

If you are unaware, the writers of Lost do a podcast where they talk about whats going on in the show, and their most recent one confirms who the Oceanic 6 are as well as few other interesting bits of information. As for the Oceanic 6 – Its not Ben, Juliet, or Desmond. They were not on the plane. Jin does not make it off the island whether he is dead or not is still unknown.

The Oceanic 6 are:

  1. Aaron
  2. Kate
  3. Jack
  4. Hurley
  5. Sun
  6. Sayid

Some other points that come straight from the writers mouth are:

  1. Tom is gay. Meet Kevin Johnson confirmed our suspicions after he made a comment to Kate while she was changing clothes that she was not his type.
  2. Desmond and Minkowski’s side effects have happened before to other people on the island. Remember back to Rousseau speaking about the Blackrock ship and how she spoke of a “sickness” that they experienced.
  3. When the Swan hatch imploded, the sky turned purple and there was a loud noise. More appearances of the purple sky can be expected.
  4. The writers always name the season finale cliff hanger with a code name to keep it secret. The code names seem to make no sense at all, but there is always a story behind them. Season 4′s finale is code named “The Frozen Donkey Wheel”. Anyone care to try and figure this one out?

  1. I guess the writers are prolife, considering they say that Aaron is a survivor of the flight even though he wasn’t born.

  2. I wonder what would cause the purple sky again?

  3. Does anyone have a link to the podcast??
It seems a little silly to me that Areon is on of the six seeing that he wasnt even born.

  4. The podcast is embedded at the bottom of this post. Just push play to listen to it. If for some reason its not working for you you can go to ABC.com and listen

  5. I still find it strange that Sayid can run around killing people and not get noticed. Back to the golf course scene of season 4 when Sayid calls himself one of the oceanic six, why if this guy had that much to fear from the oceanic six wouldn’t he recognize Sayid. They seem to have recognition in the flash forwards but just not constant recognition. I guess since Sayid is confirmed all I can do is let that one go. Without this recognition, I would also through out the theory (or at least rethink) that it couldn’t be one of the six in the coffin since they would be famous.

  6. That’s not to say that the person in the coffin wasn’t one of the passengers. Maybe somehow they got off the island separately without being noticed

  7. Personally I think Micheal is in the coffin, I noticed that when Jack went to the Funeral that it was a black neighbourhood…hmmm

  8. Good point Kat, we know that Michael got off the island and had to hide his true identity. Would then make sense why no one was at the funeral and maybe some of the future story lines are how some other people had to sneak off the island and why they couldn’t just claim that there was 9 or 10 people that survivied the crash. Someone else made a good point in another post too about the fact that it is already believed in the real world that all 324 passangers were found in the reck on the ocean floor, how now can they claim survivors.
Got to wait another month for anything though.

  9. mmm i dont think its aaron, i think its Michael !
about the man in the coffin, it could be michael also, but also Rousseau… though it doesnt match that no one would have gone to the funeral and that someone cared enough to put it in the news…

What about Walt?? He is already off the island!!!

Remember when Sayid killed that girl in Germany?? That was after he left the island…and he was working for Ben(???)…

So, it would give us more than 5…or am i wrong???

  11. Walt isnt counted as an Oceanic 6 because they are keeping him hidden at his grandmothers house. No one knows Michael and Walt are back.

  12. It becomes so mysterious and twisted, I can’t even understand a thing! Who are the Oceanic 6 (aren’t they Oceanic 350+)? Are they the only 6 people who survived?

  13. It seems to me that Ben, Juliet, Desmond and Aaron (he was not a listed passenger) could not be the final survivors of the plane crash as they were not on the plane.

  14. I’ve just thought… How can Aaron be classed as a survivor when he wasn’t technically on the plane to be on the manifest, as Claire was still pregnant =/

  15. I shouldda read the posts first, huh? lol Sorry :(

  16. Aaron makes perfect sense to me. Remember the story Jack told on the stand at Kate’s court hearing? The world believes the baby to be Kate’s. It would also be a given that she had the child before the crash, possibly even before the flight. This is easily explained by the fact that children (especially that young) are not always included on the flight manifest, and never need a ticket because they would be in their mother’s lap. I buy this.

  17. i reckon Sawyer might be one of the Oceanic 6

i also think that the Oceanic6 survivors are just the people who wanted to go home and that there are some people living on the island because in Hurleys flashforward when he’s checked himself in the mental institution, a man starts tlking to him about another institution and then he starts saying to hurley, “there still on the island arent they? u know how to contact them” or sumthing like tht anyways…

And also has Locke told anybody yet tht he use to be in a wheelchair i can never remember becaise if he told Rose (the black woman) tht he use to be paralyzed and now he can walk maybe Rose will stay on the island because she shud be technically be dead. In season 2 they did a flashback on Rose and Bernard and they both went to australia to help her with an uncurable illness she had.

  18. i have a doubt now about Desmonds’ visions… he told charlie that he had seen claire and aaron getting on a helicopter, getting rescued… although now, it seems that claire is dead! and has anyone noticed that ever since he’s on the freighter he has not had any more visions?? maybe its an island thing… most certainly !
