Lost Season 5 To Begin in 2009

Lost season 4 is finally drawing near. I for one hope that when season 4 is finished that the producers of Lost have learned their lesson. WE DONT WANT TO WAIT 6 MONTHS FOR LOST SEASON 5 TO START!

I’m not really sure about this. season 4′ first episode is titled “The beginning of the end”. It’s supposed to be the first episode of the last series, or at least this is what I suppose… I mean, “the beginning (EPISODE 1) of the end (SERIES 4)”… it sounds something like “The end is not near, it’s here” (the o.c. finale), so it should apply in a similar way.
I’m not sure I’m writing in good english and I’m less sure you’ll be able to understand what I’m saying, anyway, I think lost will end with s4.
But it is the greatest show ever !

There are supposed to be 6 seasons of lost. It might not all take place on the island. Presumably there is a conclusion from the flas forwards and perhaps the oceanic 6 will return to the island in season 5/6.

i dont understand this at all. i have been watching lost from season one and after every season someone makes the biggest deal out of the time frame of the season. last season they bit(H about the 6 epi. then the long brake. Season one and two people hated that there were reruns every other week are so. I know lost is great but i personal like them all together so i dont mind waiting till next jan. 52 episodes a season would be nice but 36 of them would be fillers.

Well, I watched boxed sets for season 1 and 2, seasons 3 and 4 weekly as they came, and I have to tell you that the gap kills my brain cells trying to recap everything. I am still trying to work out Jack’s Dad and the Claire thing! I would pay to watch season five earlier. The quality of the writing and producing doesn’t come quickly, people. Considering each episode is like a mini movie, it’s no wonder it takes time to film each one. Just relax and the next 7 months will fly by. You have no choice but to wait till 2009 so just find something else to focus on for a few months!

Six months is a long time.

There maybe another series out by then that will make us forget all about Lost season 5….

Honestly, i didn’t feel more enlightened about the show after watching Season 4… and I didn’t feel excitement while watching it like I did with the first three seasons…

I think that has to do with having to wait for too long…

I like JJ Abrams…but I think his whole approach to Lost is wrong….

Such story oline can work for the first three seasons…after that if it doesn’t end, it gets more confusing, while its audience will develop a nonchalant attitude towards the show….

I know many people who followed Lost initially, stopped following the series after the Third season….

Frankly, although I am curious to know the ending, I am not anxious anynmore about Season 5.

Why?

The reason is simple: no matter how much you whine and pine, Season 5 is not going to run tomorrow….

During the next six months, our lives is going to be filled with concerns over other priority issues and thrilled by other new series and movie releases…..so much so that Lost Season 5, no matter how promising it will be, will pale in comparison….

The producers of Lost could have ended the series in the Third Season…and that can be done by chopping off lot of unnecessary flashback scenes in season One and Two….

Now in the Fourth season and Fifth seasons scheduled to be released in 2009 and 2010, it looks like we have to exercise with more patience.

Well it looks like the producers of Lost and JJ Abrams underestimated the excitement the spectre is likely to generate.

I love LOST, but I have to say I feel cheated on this series as it was sooo short. With the writers strike in the middle, the two halves were over too quickly, no sooner your into it it ends!
Now we’ve got, like, forever until the next series starts.

Well i completely disagree with all of you, i think all seasons have been good, i thought the finale to season 4 was the best finale out of them all, i’m not one to feel emotional but, when desmond was reunited with Penny i nearly had a tear in my eye haha! I just thought that the last episode was fantastic, couldn’t of asked for more. Season 4 itself, i think started off rather slow but it got better i think, and ended brilliantly JJ Abrams shud give themself a pat on the back, congrats. As for season 5 i think its going to be quite confusing as the oceanic 6 have left the island, but jack and the others have to go back, i just hope its not a dissapointing series where they spend all series trying to get back on the island.

The truth is lost has left most of us LOST in a world of our own words. I lost the tempo after the first three seasons. I don’t have that ‘elephant’ memory and cannot seem to sew seasons together when the break is TOO LONG. The reason for the 8 month break is this. Most shows wrap up near the end of May and begin filming again in Sept. Giving the actors the much needed break they so richly deserve. To make movies / do other projects, spend time with their other half / kids, or travel.

Then when Lost begins filming in Sept they have 17 episodes to get through before they begin to show the episodes.

(So there is no repeat episodes every other week)

It normally takes about two weeks to film a episode / editing etc.

Then the tv stations have their ratings periods / new seasons and they wait to premiere at the end of Jan / begin of Feb during Sweeps.

It was a a wonderful job, but my problem now is that i i’am actually lost right now nd it take season 5 to find myself out in the jungle of lost. I believe at the end of episode six all of the characters will return to the island and settle down.

i agree ryan. this season was spectacular. i was, like you, moved by penny and desmond reuniting. the tension built by the show really made you wonder if desmond was gonna make it. when he wasn’t one of the oceanic six i was worried that he had died but realized that he actually wasn’t part of the flight. and then there was the moment when you thought that he had drowned in the helicopter crash. they really made that reunion suspenseful. however, for me, the most tear-jerking moment in the whole series was charlie’s death. i mean i was MOVED by that COMPLETELY!! that was truly an artistic performance — the writing, the acting, and the directing were all superb!! Dominic Monaghan was amazing. for me, that moment brought out many thoughts about those grand figures in history that were martyrs for others: ghandi, joan of arc, jesus, martin luther king, etc. i personally am not religious but charlie’s heroism sparked a thought in my mind, a quote from the bible where jesus, before being crucified, says “no greater love has anyone than this, that they would lay down their life for their friends.” i mean, charlie, knowing that he was going to die (most martyrs do!), laid his life down for others. man, the guy who came to the island a drug addict completely redeemed himself by sacrificing himself completely for others. i still get chills from watching those last moments when he crosses himself and then floats away!

I read in an artical that the new lost series will begin on 5th of January and that it will be 17 hours (and not episodes). Each episode is aproximately 41 min. ,so with my calculations 5th and 6th season with have 25 episodes each.
Unless if the writers were referring as 1 hour the one episode, in this case the word “hour” is used wrong, they should have said “episodes”, that’s why i am optimistic that each 2 last season will contain 24 spisodes.
I agree that the waiting is too long, but for me the waiting worths a lot, because is the best tv series ever.
So the best we can do is to discuss what we thing on the 5th season will happen and not complaining about the waiting.
