In a recent interview with Damon Lindeloff, it was revealed that Desmond is going to have some guilt and regret regarding The Looking Glass and Charlie dying.
“Desmond will have to deal with the aftereffects and the guilt of it. He will question whether or not Charlie would have made this sacrifice had he not told him that it was what he was going to do. He will question the role he played in Charlie’s death.” So, it sounds like big sexy Dezzie is haunted by Charlie’s passing, as many of us fans are!”
So after the producers are going into complete radio silence and not spilling any details about the upcoming Season 4 of Lost, Lindeloff goes and drops a little hint about what we can expect early on from Desmond. Hopefully more info will continue to surface.

There will be flaw, i’m sure of it.. This tv series is not a finished product, i mean when they did season one, they had no idea what to do with the upcoming season, so THERE WILL BE FLAW.

I don’t even understand how Charlie could have died, due to the fact that anything underwatever like a submarine, has to have an airpocket in a room with a window.
To prevent it from completely flooding in the event of a breached wall or window, I find it impossible to believe that the people who somehow built an underwater facility wouldn’t know to build airpockets.
So either Charlie isn’t dead, or the writers of Lost don’t know anything about underwater structures.

The reason Locke didn’t want them to radio the boat, is because he believes everyone who survived the crash, was brought to the island for a specific reason, and none of them should be taken off of the island.

Unfortunately abc.com blocks the showing of Lost episodes the day after the airing in the US for all IP address outside of the US. I know this because I tried to watch an episode on a business trip I took last Fall and I got a message saying the the episodes were only available in the US.

Hey Kelsy… I agree I dont think this is really the future. There has never been any type of clear answers on the show and everything they do show always ends up being different than it originally appeared.
There are lots of different directions they can go with it like you said maybe Jack’s thoughts of the future, maybe a desmond vision of the future. Whatever it turns out to be, I dont think it can be taken as absolute.

I don’t really think it’s Sawyer in that coffin. I’m more convinced Kate and Sawyer’ve got together, given that she secretly came to see Jack and said sth like ‘I’ve gotta go back, he might be wondering where I am right now.’ That “he” definitely refers to Sawyer. I see no other possibility. And guys, Des sees the past..perpetual dejavu kinda thing, not the future. He came back to fix things that had actually happened before.Yet, this is just another opinion of mine. This is exactly what they want, isn’t it…a mystery that goes on forever. Seems like they’ve done a magnificent job sowing some curiosity on us…and it really grows. Respect!

I think the funeral that Jack went to in the future was Ben’s. The funeral home director asked Jack, “Friend or family?” and Jack said “neither”. Wouldn’t have been Sawyer; Kate would have gone to his funeral. Maybe Locke. But my guess is, Doc was suicidal because he realized that what Ben told him about the island was true; that he should never return “home”, and that realization, along with Ben’s obituary that he read on the plane, was enough to push him over the edge. Ben had no family on the mainland, the rest of the castaways did. Just a guess.
i really love lost but i was really surpriesd what happend in last episode..the writer should not showed us that they rescued if there will be season4 and should not end it like that it should end it when jack made the call..
zab, apparently there’re a few choices when it comes to who could be of Kate’s aversion. 1)Ben, who’s unlikely to ever move his ass out of the island 2)Locke, who as well as Ben prefers to walk around the island rather than wheeling about town 3) Julia, she doesn’t wanna share Jack with her. It can’t be Julia in that chest. She’d have a proper funeral cuz she has family out there. So, back to sqaure one again. What I’m trying to do now is discard the couples out of the question. Someone single is in that box, I’m sure of it. Otherwise there’d be someone else(thier partner)sitting there at the funeral. Maybe it’s just someone insignificant, the scene’s probably meant to make the big forth-flash complete as when Jack on the quest of finding the island and spotted the obituary and went there in hope to see some cast-away folks and noone showed up and it just led to the scene where he rang Kate and then met up and discussed the matter of going back and Kate turned back and walked away. Maybe it only another clue saying ‘hey, this is not the flashback, it’s the now.’Don’t you think so, zab?

Ok I just read theses comments and I saw from two different people on when Lost will be back on, now which is it?? January OR February???
After watching Lost season 3 and reading valuable information/theories/updates posted by you people, here is where I stand and I’m sharing the same with you.
1) The island does have some super powers which bring physical as well as mental changes in a person. As for the physical changes, well, Locke is able to walk again, as quoted by Juliete (Julia) the average sperm count of males on this island is around 5 times more than usual; and many more such examples could be highlighted. As for mental changes – the island does pull up ones conscience. It makes one think about the past, what they did (or what happened with them, which they believe they had something to do with), repent and urges them (may be) to correct them so that they don’t make that same mistakes again. Eko seeing his brother, Walt coming up in front of various people, Ben seeing his mother etc are manifestations of this same phenomenon. An alternate theory for the hallucinations is given in point 4.
2) Jacob – the mysterious man is similarly someone from Bens past, whom he hallucinates as explained in point one last line. He was someone who was initially a noble soul. He was manipulated either by Dharma people or Bens people (the later option is highly probable) to act/commit things whose clear nature we are still not updated with. At times Ben acquires an alternate personality (highly probable – of Jacob’s) and does things being Jacob (says to Locke – Help me in the episode “man behind the curtain”).
3) Black Smoke – Continuing from point one, the super powers of this island were realized by Dharma and they started some experiments so that the power could be tamed/harnessed in a controlled fashion. The experiment went wrong; end result is the black smoke.
4) The Dharma initiative – was to use the resources of the island and discover – Time travel (This might sound crazy, but please let me come up with justifications), in which they were partly successful. The Black smoke was just a by product of the experiment. It might happen that the hallucinations (from point 1) are impressions of people from another time frame (this establishes Jacob as a pure alter ego of Ben, nothing more, nothing less). Desmond does read future. We’ve seen Jack and Kate’s future too.
5) The people who are coming to the island are people who want to make money by continuing from where Dharma initiative left over (or forced to stop by Ben). Ben (and Locke also, I guess) knows that they won’t stop for anything and would continue and commercialize the end product in spite of its serious negative side effects (the black smoke, for example). Eventually this might be a serious threat for the world. Thus now we have a block which at least has some shape similarity where the part of the jigsaw “Saving the world – the phrase” might fit in. We just have to rotate it to figure out the exact fit.
6) The new others are not related directly to Penny, but definitely related to Penny and Desmond through some other channel. May be Penny’s father. He was a wealthy and powerful man (as far as I remember). I strongly believe Penny (or her father) knew about the electromagnetic waves. Season 2 last episode did show us an update to Penny by some men about the shockwaves. So they were indeed screening the area.
7) The numbers – a fail safe designed by dharma initiative for the sake of its own people, to let outer world know about their existence in case something goes wrong to the project/their people. At the same time they knew once they let outer people know their existence, the project goes for a toss, may even fall in wrong hand. Thus as long as you are pressing that button, you are basically “saving the project, the Dharma and of course – the world”. How does the fail safe works? After a preset time, if you don’t reset the counter, the EM generator releases a huge EM shockwave which could be picked up from very very long distances.
9) The End – The only way this story could end is by destroying the island/its source of its mysterious powers. Jack has to take this responsibility. Kate is the lead female character we would like to see with him. Sawyer needs to play a very important role supporting these two…and yes Kate is with Sawyer. Locke is still in the island, he doesn’t leave at the first place itself…and yes he and Ben are in the same team along with Jacob. All of these men and women must “save the world” and I guess 48 (16 X 3) episodes is enough for the job
. By 2010 season 6 would be over and I’ll really be happy (or sad) to find out if my predictions were correct/wrong 
Till then, all you guys and gals, who love LOST, please keep us busy with new theories and ideas. We’d love to discuss and discuss, to speculate season 4.

I know what happens in season 4 but im not going to spoil it for anyone. There will be 6 series and a feature length film as season 7, then thats the end. Just to save on the debate about Charlie and Desmond; Charlie did die, Desmond plays a big part of season 4. The future flashes of Jack are real. The name onthe coffin was someone who has not been in it yet (a man) Its a new member of the group ‘the others’.

The ‘flash-forward’ is really a ‘flash-back’. There are several clues to this, from the comment Jack makes to the surgeon at the hospital about going upstairs to get his father, to the registration plate on Kate’s new car and the date on one of the charts Jack reads. These are all before the flight that they crashed on. So, Jack already knew Kate before they crashed, they had already been on the island before, and their being on the flight was pre-destined to return them to the island.
Do you have any screenshots to prove the dates on the car or files Jack was reading? If so that would be a huge find!

i didn’t think about jack mentioning his father until just now. what i think is the flash forward is the real reality and them being on the island is a past that never existed. i bet they all get rescued but not in the fashion they desire. in the end they time travel back to before all of the crap happened that led them to get on the plane in the first place. they remember, but no one else knows what they’ve been through.

Well, i don’t think the last scene was a flashforward at all. So far, flashforwards belonged only to Des and they were very hazy unlike a full story. Support this idea with what Jack told to the other surgeon: “Go and tell my father”… So his dad was still alive that time unless he came alive while on the island but then again why should Jack not meet his father during the last scene that everybody believes is a flashforward?… I don’t believe that they will ever get out of the island. That simply doesn’t make any sense to me. How about this instead?
That was again a flashback. Kate and Jack knew eachother since before the 815 crash. They had been on the island together before the crash we’ve been shown. They rescued themselves somehow but got many uncertainties about the island they wished to discover if they had an other chance to be on the island. Jack tried that several times on his own but did not succeed. This time he offered Kate to travel together and Kate did not agree. But fate put them together on the flight 815. And so the story goes…
Now both of them got some idea what was going on on the island but there are a lot more that has been known by Locke now and this time it is much more difficult to get out of the island.
