Unfortunately, the beginning of this theory just got shot down for we do know-it's not Penny's boat. On the other hand, i DO believe that time goes more slowly on the island than in the real world...

Interesting. I found this other theory on the ABC website that goes pretty deep:

This is very interesting. My professor and I were discussing the same theory, but in the episode in season 4 where Daniel (a new comer) sends for the pay loader and it doesn't arrive when it should, but arrives later and the times are off. He also tells the scruffy pilot later in the episode to stay on the exact baring they came in on, perhaps to avoid colliding with themselves on reentry into the real worlds time. Also, if you haven't already, youtube "The Orchid," and it will bring up a new Dharma Initiative training video. It deals with cloning and in the video, something goes wrong where a cloned rabbit and its original come near each other and everyone freaks. Rather than the rabbit being a clone of the other, it could be the same rabbit but from the other time zone, and if they touch, something catastrophic can happen, like in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, the antimatter + matter = BOOM!!!I'm still formulating a theory but this time displacement thing could be a good lead.

These are responses to Andres and Greg Conquest-and-everyone else.

First, to Andres, the theory would go that Naomi was very much alive all through to 2007 and then WENT BACK IN TIME by crossing into the electromagnetic plane that includes the island. She was very much alive in 2004 off the island, but she crossed back into 2004 on the island when she was murdered.

Second, to Greg Conquest and all other Lost fans, there was a possibly very important easy-to-overlook comment by Cuse and Lindeloff in that very recent recap episode that aired twice, including right before the season finale last Wednesday. At one point during that recap episde, Cuse and Lindeloff discussed on camara the fact that in a past interview they had debunked the theory that the 815 survivors are really dead and in purgatory. They reiterated the debunking by saying, in this recap episode, that the survivors are very much alive "in the time-space continuum." That was conspicuous that they chose to put it like that, and again it supports the time displacement theory of the island. They could have said the survivors are alive in the world as we know it, or just said they're very much alive, period. But they threw out that "time-space continuum" verbage on purpose, I think.

Oh, this Time Travel idea is interesting. I didn't think so before, but after reading an interview with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse (http://www.mediavillage.com/jmentr/2007/01/31/jmer-lost-01-31-07/), I'm seeing that there is some idea that will tie this all together. I imagine being "in" a Bermuda Triangle of the Pacific -- meets Doctor Who . . .

Did anyone else catch the fact that in the "flash forward", jack told the other doc to go upstairs and get his father to see who was more drunk. Jack's dad died before the crash. that's why jack was on the plane to bring his father's body back. So, if it is the future, why is his father alive? Did he come back from the dead? This happens again at the pharmacy. The girl starts to call his dad to verify the rx. If Jack's dad is dead, how can she call him? They must be in some kind of alternate time or future. Then when they leave the island, things that have happened may reverse themselves. Such as Jack's dad not dying? Also, Kate is a fugitive, why isn't she in jail or in hiding in the flash forward?
