24 Season 6 premier

jack baurHaving never seen an episode of 24, I consider myself quite an afficionado on the show. I’ve been hearing many great things about the show and how good (and violent) it is, so I am somewhat looking forward to the season 6 premier on Sunday January 14th at 8/7 central.

I plan on watching the 2 hour premier on Sunday and am expecting to have no idea of whats really going on, but since Lost, Heroes, and Jericho are all on a break untill Feburary, I need to find something new to watch.
For those of you that are up to speed on the show, and are quivering with excitement waiting for 24 season 6 to begin, here is a quick recap of the happenings in season 5, and whats to come in season 6 from tv.com.

Season 5:

“24’s pulsating season five opened with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) forced out of hiding after the shocking assassination of President Palmer (Dennis Haybert), the murder of Michelle Dessler (Reiko Aylesworth) and an attack on Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard). With fabricated evidence pinning him to Palmer’s assassination, Bauer became the most wanted man in America. Meanwhile, Russian separatists led by Vladimir Bierko (Julian Sands) took an airport hostage and launched missiles at the Russian presidential motorcade, and when their master plan was quelled, America was threatened with deadly canisters of military-grade nerve gas. In one of the series’ sharpest turns, it was revealed that ineffectual President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin), along with Christopher Henderson (Peter Weller), were responsible for the terrorism and murders of the previous hours. As the clock ticked on, unstable First Lady Martha Logan (Jean Smart) witnessed the unthinkable while Jack, teaming with feisty computer wiz Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), pursued justice for the day’s terrifying events.”

Season 6:

“Season Six picks up 20 months after last season’s shocking season finale, when Jack Bauer was captured by Chinese government agents battered, bloodied and headed for points unknown. As a series of horrific terrorist attacks rocks the nation, President Wayne Palmer, the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer, and his team of advisors, Karen Hayes and Thomas Lennox as well as CTU colleagues Chloe O’Brian, Curtis Manning and Bill Buchanan begin an unthinkable, nail-biting day.”
