The Cost of Living - Questions and Answers

We learned a few things episode 5 “The Cost of Living”, but as always new questions arise. Here is a quick rundown:

- We learned why Ecko was building the church on the island. Near the end of the episode the lady tells Ecko that he owes Yemi 1 church. This is why he was determined to build one.

- The black smoke likes to take the shape of elephants and make the show a little less realistic.

- The x-rays were of Ben’s neck. The reason why Jack is being held is they Others planned on breaking him down and making him think “they werent the enemy” and make Jack want to help save Bens life.

- Henry believes in God rather than Fate. He asks Jack if he believes in God, and then says that his proof was in finding out he had a tumor on his spine 2 days before a spinal surgeon fell from the sky.

- The new girl, is just as hot as Kate. If she dies it will be somewhat OK as long as this girl replaces all the screen time she was getting.

- There is another hatch, with at least one man inside. He likes to dress up like a pirate and wear eyepatches, or maybe he lost his eye. We dont know yet so Im going with the pirate explination for now.

- Ecko tells Locke that “they are next”. Does this mean the smoke is going to kill them all with their own personalized telegram from a person that died because of something they did?

- Either Juliette really hates Ben and wants to cause a revolt and overthrow Ben, or the whole video tape with the note cards was just another big mind game being played by the Others. Who do you think is lying, Juliette or Ben?.

- In next week’s episode, which is the final one before the 2 month break before season 3 resumes leading into Lost Season 4, Kate will kiss Sawyer again, the Others put a gun to the back of Sawyers head, and Alex (Rousou’s daughter) is dragged away screaming to “not believe anything they say”.

These are the main take aways from tonites episode. Do you have any I missed? Leave em in the comments.

Where did Yemmi’s body go, why was it not in the plane anymore, and how did Yemmi’s necklace end up in the woods for Locke to find?

2

Yemmi’s body was taking by the others of course. Now if you pause and play in slow motion right after "Yemmi" said: You talked to me like I am your brother
You can see that the man walking away from eko didn’t look like his brother at all. He has short curly hair and is a little fatter. I don’t know why eko view this person as his brother as guest he was drug some how. Everything is possible in this show as we see every week.

Listen,
I first appologise if anyone has alraedy discussed this, but I have looked high and low for info on this and havn’t found any. If no one else has noticed this I can’t believe it…at the end of season 2 (i’m in England and just about keeping up with season3) in the last episode we see 2 scientists in the (north pole?). Has anyone noticed anything familiar about one of the scientists? One of them is Jack. My girlfriend noticed it at first. I watched it and told others to do so…everyone agrees, but no one seems to have talked about it. The disguise isn’t even that good…is it a joke? Or part of the mysterious plot? Watch it again and see what you think?

here ya go dood, http://www.lostreview.com/2006/6/jack-one-artic-researchers.cfm

jack isnt the researcher although they look alike, they are credited different in the credits

Sayid made it back to camp, but what happened to Sun and Jin? No mention of them or what happened.

Well, I would like to know who tells Jacks that the X rays were from Ben. Julliet answer to Ben that wasn’t her, is she liyng?

About the video tape with the note cards, I don’t think is a "big mind game being played by the Others" because if Ben knows about the note cards, he is putting his life in risk.

If anyone saw the secret release tape on youtube it spoke about a secret mission of fake vaccines being given to african patients under the dharma projects guidence which make the patients die! This episode has a strong link because of the African gangsters taking 70% of the vaccine shipments from Eko’s african village. Any connection? I think so.

Good point on the vaccines, also we posted that video here:

I absolutely love your take on the elephant monster. That was crazy and I felt just a little over the top. If they had shown a little of the monster and then a little of Echo being thrown like a paper doll and then some blood we would have bene good. Smokey getting the pilot was much more convincing and chilling. This time around it reminded me of some hokey sci-fi flick you wander upon while fighting a bout of insomnia at 3am.

The scene with Jin buying a panda was a FLASHBACK NOT A FLASHFORWARD!
