According to Nielson Ratings, the third-season opener of Lost averaged 18.8 million viewers Wednesday, down nearly 5 million from last fall’s hatch-revealing premiere. However, Lost had its biggest audience since Jan. 25, reflecting a steady dropoff throughout last season.
While I love Lost, it is easy to see why the numbers are dipping and why Lost Season 2 was significantly lower then season 1. The viewing public will not continue to hang on if questions are not answered.
Take the last episode of season 3, the Glass Ballerina which was absolutely the worst episode of Lost of any among the first 2 and a half seasons. It didn’t tell us anything we already hadn’t pressumed from previous episodes and hints and wasted an hour to tell us this.
Not only are the episodes pointless, but the commercials are unbearable. It seems like we are only watching 10 minutes of Lost and 50 minutes of commericals. If I didn’t have the wonderful invention they call a DVR, I may have gone bonkers over all the commercials.
I hope for all of our sake’s that Lost turns it around and this week’s episode that focuses on Locke sure looks to be a good one. At least I hope!

I can see exactly why Lost has dropped off the radar for millions of viewers. All questions and no answers. Everyone was expecting the first few episodes of season 3 to be just as exhilirating as the season 2 finale. But no, these last 3 episodes seem to be more like filler episodes than season premiere episodes. Which makes me question where Lost is going with all these little insignificant (or so we think) clues they’ve been giving us over the last 3 crappy episodes. Despite the slow progress of season 3, I have faith that it will pick up in the next 5 episodes before Lost takes it short hiatus; hopefully it will start with tonights episode that concentrates on Locke. If not I think they will leave us with a monumental cliff hanger at the end of the 8th episode and the action will really pick up once they return for the remaining episodes. But I guess we’ll see, won’t we?
Any comments on if anyone thinks the show is going anywhere? If so, where?

really, lost has gone from excellent to stupid! come on!! time travel ?? so stupid. It started to interestingly, season 1 was a hit and season 2 too! season 3 is zzzzzzzzz, 4 is even worse and 5, come on! i tell you, I actually bought DVDs for season 1, 2 and 3. But season 4 and 5 are so not worth it!
