I have a sneaky feeling the funeral might have been Sawyer’s. It was supposed to be a poor neighbourhood, not just a ‘black’ one. Neither Michael nor Rose were necessarily liable to be in such a spot, especially not in LA…but it’s just the sorta place I’d expect to find Sawyer at his end!
This ‘flash-forward’ is just another mindscrew courtesy of the diabolic storytellers at ‘Lost’…and I’ll be chomping at the bit ’til February! (The final eps to Season 3 just showed tonight here in Sweden.)

the producer said its a purgatory? so, its possible that in the series ender theres really no survived on that plane crash.
and by the way, ive heard that theres only 3 seasons and 48 episodes left, it means theres only 16 episodes per season before the series finale.
The producers have said multiple times that it is NOT PURGATORY. They are all alive, all on the island and its all really happening, aka its not all in Hurleys head in the mental institute.

Loch and Ben advise Jack not to be rescued at the end as things would get worse for him and it would be a big mistake to go home..Do you think some kind of spirit/power (help me to fill in the gaps any comments?)convinced Jack to stay on the Island -Jack was having some kind of deja vu-mindtricks on how his life would be in the future if he left the Island – he would be a drunk- Kate would’nt be interested in him etc. I personally think Jack is seeing what Loch has been seeing all along…their futures this is why Loch is so adamant to stay on the Island.
i think that when episode 4 starts it will go back to the Island and they will all be standing there by the radio tower…they will not be rescued.Jack will come out of some sub-concious state where he has just seen the future which is bleak or Ben and Loch will be with him in the presence of Jacob who has somehow made Jack see the future…convincing him too stay
I’ve just finished Season 3. It’s not the Director’s style to make imagination comes real in front of the scene for Jack. He’s always rational and determined. Jack is so desparate to leave the island he wouldn’t give up the satellite phone.

Jack is my favourite character, and i think he is among the very few who truly have character. Much as i feel sad for him that his heart was broken by kate, i sure hope he really gets over her, and moves on, which of course might not be the case here. And Sawyer? Just to clear everything up, but after the season 3 finale it was anounced on the news that the creators of the show have disscussed with ABC how long LOST should be on for, knowing that LOST is not a show that can go on forever. And decided thaat they are gonna make 2 more seasons, a total of 48 more episodes, so now the writers have the luxury of mapping out the rest of the story and make sure everything is done right and all the issues be addressed. Lost however will not start till early 2008 but the creators promise it will be well worth the wait. Lost will then continue to air it’s 2 final seasons, coming to an end in 2010. Other cast members were there to comment about this recent news. Jack said he thinks that this is going to be great for the show. And I agree. Now we know that when season 4 starts, every episode is gonna count. No more pointless storylines, and hopefully all episodes contribute to a well deserved ending for lost.
Can they please hurry up and put Lost Season 3 on DVD. I don’t even watch tv that much anymore because Lost is my favorite and I watched everyone faithfully. I can’t wait for Season 4, 5, 6, and 7…….

i am pretty sure season 4 will start with all of them (charlie included) in the island as if the last two episodes of season 3 had not happened…I think Lost deals with possibilities, that is a plane crashes and there are two (amongs many others) possibilities:
1- no survivors
2- some survivors
in Lost all possible possibilities seem to take place, that is why Desmond sees Charlie´s many deaths, because he sees all the possibilities…And about who is in the coffin, we may not know about that since all this thing of Jack being drunk and phoning Kate and all that is just what may have happened were the people they contact at the end of season 3 who jack and the rest think they were…well this is my guess, if i am right i may be opening a psychic phone line or something
