Every Man for Himself Recap

Every man for himself starts out with Desmond talking to Claire about how her roof needs to be fixed, and then asks to borrow a golf club from Rodrigo Santoro.

We are then taken over to Jack’s cell where he is talking with Juliette when Ben comes rushing in saying the sub is back, and they have a situation. We then see Coleen being caried on a stretcher, and Sawyer knows that one of the Losties must have shot her.

We then get a Sawyer flashback where he is in prison from the con he pulled on the lady back in season 2 and stole all of her money. He meets a man who is in jail for stealing 10 million dollars from the government, and Sawyer sees his opportunity for another con.

Back in Sawyer’s cage he decides to set up a trap and plans to electrocute the next person that comes to let him out of the cage using water on the ground and the little game he has to play to get the fish biscuits. Ben can of course over hear his plan since he is able to monitor them from inside. Ben turns the power off to the cage and goes and talks to Sawyer. When Sawyer realizes the power has been cut off, Ben attacks him and takes him inside the building.

When Sawyer wakes up, he is straped to a table and getting ready to get a huge shot stuck in him. Sawyer screams in defiance and Jack can hear him through the intercom in is cell. This means that its obviously working, so did Jack really hear his dad speaking or was that imagined?

Once Sawyer wakes up again, Ben tells him they have implanted a pace maker which will explode if his heart rate rises to high. Ben tells Sawyer that if he tells kate what they have done that she will also recieve a pace maker.

Back to Sawyers flashback in prison. The lady he conned and ended up in jail for tells him that she has a daughter named Clementine and it belongs to Sawyer. He tells her there’s no way its his.

Back in Jack’s cell, Juliette tells Jack she needs his help in saving Coleen. When Jack is going in to peform the sugery he sees x-rays on the wall who he laters says is that of a 40 year old man with a tumor. He realizes this is who he is here to save, but who’s x-rays are they? Jack is unable to save Coleen in surgery and she dies. Danny becomes very upset at this because it was his wife. He goes out and begins to punch Sawyer and asks Kate if he loves him. She says yes, but later admits to Sawyer that it was only to make him stop punching him.

Back to Sawyers flashback. The man that stole the 10 million confides in Sawyer where the money is and says he wants help in moving it somewhere safe. This is what Sawyer was planning all along. As soon as he has the location of the money he works out a deal with the Warden and gets the last 6 years taken off his sentance for telling them where the money is. He also gets a portion of the money in which Sawyer says to set up a bank account in Albequrque under the name Clementine Phillips (his daughter) and tells him not to ever let the girl found out who its from.

Back on the Losties side of the island Desmond is building a large structure with the golf club at the top. This turns out to be a lightining rod. He’s standing there watching it and Hurley asks what it is and Desmond just tells him to watch. It begins to rain and huge bolt of lighting strikes the rod which is set up right next to Claire and Aarons tent. After thinking about it, this in my opinion is just another hint at Desmond being able to see the future. In the beginning of the episode he offers to fix Clairs roof on her tent, but she says no thats ok. Why did he offer to fix it? Because he knew the lighting was going to stirke it. This is when he decides to build the lighting rod right next to her tent so that the lightining hits it rather than her tent.

Back on the Others side of the island, which we soon find out isnt really divided up into sides. Ben takes Sawyer up to the top of a mountain and says he wants to show him something. Once at the top, Sawyer is able to see a huge island. Their island in which they crashed on. This means the Others are on a completly seperate island. Ben makes a reference to their island being twice the size of Alcatraz which is ironic since sawyer, kate, and jack are imprissoned there. Ben also informs Sawyer that they never really put a pace maker inside him, they only put doubt inside of him.

This was basically the end of the episode, but promo for next weeks episode looked really good. The most interesting part was a new character watching one of the video screens in a hatch with Locke, when a man with an eye patch comes onto the screen with a very ominous look about him. I paused the screen on him to try and see who it was but wasnt able to make him out. It looked somewhat similar to Jack’s father but theres no proof behind that. We will just have to wait till next week…..like always.

UPDATE: Grabbed a quick screenshot of the man in the eye patch. WHO IS IT?

Theory on the man in the eye patch:

In the episode "The Other 48 Days," Ana and Eko found a trunk in the Arrow hatch. In this trunk was a Bible with the spliced film strip inside. Along with this was a glass eye. The eye belongs to the eyepatch man. He was the one who spliced the film. But why? If Locke follows his clues he will meet up with the eyepatch man and learn who he is and why he spliced the film.

i think this most recent LOST episode was kind of a joke. im starting to think the writers have gotten way to far ahead of themselves in terms of story lines and now we will be left with many questions unanswered. One thing i didnt like is when Ben says to sawyer that theyre not killers. Yet when Goodwin and Ethan were aorund they definately killed there share. Now i know they killed "not good" people, well sawyer doesnt exactly qualify as a good person but they wont kill him because as the guys with the dead wife says in the next preview "if they didnt need you id kill you" So what all of the sudden do they need him for after they shot him and left him to die in the ocean at the end of season one. The writers have to start tieing off some loose ends from previous seasons, just an example like the black smoke thing that just got forgotten about.

anyone thought of this: in the first episode of season 3 the others see the plane go down on island, the island that was shown to sawyer in the last episode, right? but when ben told Ethan and Goodwin to get to each of there sections of the plane they run in different directions of the island. Am i wrong to say that they had to run over a long stretch of water to get to the plane?? That suggest that the others either have supernatural powers or it’s a big mistake by the storytellers?? Ben also told Ethan to run fast.. 2 boats? 2 people running both dead, anyone got any clue to this?

The scene with Jin buying a panda was a FLASHBACK NOT A FLASHFORWARD!
