Here is a huge map of the entire island, as well as flight patterns of Oceanic 815 and Henry Gales balloon. As well as many other peices of information about the island.

I think it’s all too much of a coincidence that they’ve all met before but most of all have all (so far)talked to jack’s dad. And what the hell is the black smoke? did anyone notice flashes of peoples faces inside it? my theory is that it’s the souls of all the people who’ve died on the island.

I have a feeling that these "others" are killing people have sinned in any way e.g lying,killing,stealing etc. and taking the innocent people(locke, the children, claire and her baby etc.) and protecting them from the big black smoke thing.
