Hmmmm thanks Evan, more questions have come to my attention, what else was Calvin hiding and how did he come from being in sayids flashback (a U.S army officer) to being on the island? How did penelope know to look for electromagnetism as seen on the Portuguese’s computer in their hut (if her father Charles Widmore has nothing to do wiht it)[that was the first glimpse of the real world that wasnt a flashback]? and how did an electromagnet create that sound and light and why werent the others/henry worried about it?

Season one, Exodus about 43 minutes in to it, just before Hurly says "whoever named this place ‘dark territory’… genius’, you see the green bird fly off again I think that this bird will be explained in season three… otherwise they wouldn’t have brought it back, everything they do is for a reason, especially CGI, because thats effort.

Also someone said a few days ago that the scene with the portugese scientists at the end of season 2 may have been in the past rather than the present and that there was no way of telling that it hadnt already happened and they were simply showing a flashback.
Well if u listen i cant remember exactly what was said but it was along the lines of ‘dont lose it again’ or something like that. This suggests that at some point they had found the surge of elctromagnetism (perhaps the first time desmond didnt press it in time and the plane crashed) but desmond pressed it before they could find where it was. and now they have found it again after locke stopped it from being pressed.

So maybe the scene at the end with Pen and the two scientists is in real time (the present) and so maybe they really have located desmond) ?!?!?

Hey i’m from England to and i just finished watching the final eppy of lost/2 (thank the Lord for limewire) this place has so many interesting theories that have kept me entertained for hours.

Comero I like you idea about the world war two testing, and it defiantly seems to match the out dated computers and the record player, then again the hatch could’ve been designed that way to fool participants that it has been there for longer. Also I think that the idea of Pennys father being behind the Dharma Initiative is more valid so it would not fall into play with yours… unless he converted it from a world war two test site… but now I’m just being random and using no logic.

Hey guys, glad to see some new questions and ideas popping up.

I’ve been looking into Claire and her baby recently as well. The Psychic told Claire that the baby would either be very good or very evil and that is why she must raise it. She had to be on that specific flight, so I originally thought that the psychic knew about the plain and thus sent her on the plain so that she would take care of the baby. However in the episodes of Claire’s flashbacks with Eathon he said ‘were good people, were a good family’, so maybe the psychic meant for the other to end up with the baby. The others constantly refer to themselves at the good people/ones. I wonder when they will try and take him again!

And now I remember it WAS John’s dad that was being chased by those two gangster looking people, thats why he faked his death… They wouldn’t dare repeat the same plot twist.

If were going to bring Cindy into the discussion then why not ask about all of the other passenger of the flight that were taken from Analucia camp at the beginning? When we find out where, Jack, Kate and Sawyer are going; we’ll probably see all of the other people that were taken.
BTW, random, but I like the way that different people give different names to the same group of people. ‘The Others’, ‘Them’, ‘Hostels’.

My theory is that if sawyer dies in season3 it will have some tie in with the death of analucia and the fact that they both had something to do with jacks dad who obviously has an integral part in the story along with lockes dad whom both went into hiding presumed dead but for what reason? Perhaps so that they could both conduct strange experiments together on an island.
The whole earth changing its axis due to the large magnetic anamoly on the island and shifting its polarity is a great theory, also magnetic anamoly is MA the last two letters of DHARMA, perhaps, maybe, d….. hanso association for research into magnetic anamolies.
Also what ripped the pilot from the cockpit and mashed him up?, what runs about the island chucking palm trees about? and what happened to the intelligent smoke that floats about?

And oh, one more thing..what makes u guys think sawyer’s gunna die?

Anyone notice the life extension info on the hanso website. This kind of goes back to the WWII theory. Zeke did have a luger (WWII German pistol) pointed at Kate when they met up with the others while looking for Michael. Ana Lucia also had an old US Army knife she got off one of the others. Maybe the injections are a part of that life extension; keeping the other alive? Just more random thoughts to keep everyone going.

However I remember that Charlie has told Claire or other people thing before and they have just said be serious. so when he said what do you want to know about, the flying knifes or the fireball and she said, I want you to be serious, then he just said nothing.

The blooper of the white van is, what I believe to be a genuine blooper… Its not easy to see unless you know when and where exactly to look, probably just an accident like the horse trainers hand in the ‘what Kate did’ episode.

Don’t know, they say they are the good guys so weather they will kill Michael and Walt I dont know… then again they killed one of jacks tribe before. also they strung up Charlie for dead, that was a great episode! Also they said that Walt was special and ‘More than they expected’ or something like that, so that leads me to believe that they wouldnt want to kill him since he is soo rare and may have powers or something.

They reason as to why I think that the others are taking the children is because their minds have not yet been warped by an unjust society, therefore there are innocent and good people, or are easier to mold into good people. but yer I do think they took out those three because they were a big threat as the ‘leaders’ of the tribe! and your comeback + comment please.

Presumable they are just being sent to mainland, could be any country. No I don’t think that Michael will try to save them, he never seemed too attached to anyone there. However, if lost follows their story then I think it will be Walt that tries to tell someone or tries to help, especially people like Lock. This site said that Michael would not be a main character, so it sounds like they are going to phase him out of Losts storylines. If everyone is on the island to learn about their past lives and fix them, then Walt and Michael are now close, like a father and son and their problem is over so they can leave… random idea.

And yer I’ve always wondered about those children, btw they are defiantly children. The bear seems very old and tattered n torn, also their clothes are ripped and their bare foot and very dirty, so I don’t know if they are the same children.

Remember when we learnt about where Michael was with the others and ‘Bea’(the black woman from the others) asked Michael if he had ever turned up anywhere that he wasnt expected, I think that it is part of his ‘power’, to project himself in other places.

I was thinking that, its weird that they finally find the ’special’ child they are looking for, and then they let him go.!?!?

two possibilities i can think of:

!) Although walt is special, maybe he is not the child they are after. maybe they want someone born on the island ( who may have even more powers given to them by the island) like claires baby, or maybe even sun’s future baby? who knows ?!?!?

2) or perhaps they are not actually letting him escape, but have given them the bearing to somewhere else that they want walt to go. EG: another others camp on the other side of the island where they shall be waiting for him ?!?!?

Henry Gale says ‘we got more then we bargained for when Walt joined us… so I guess this is for the best’. This could mean that Walt was too powerful for the others and maybe realised that they could not control his power, maybe the realised that he would stand by his Father if there was ever a big attack so he would do more harm then good for them.

Theres only one thing, you say that Apollo is made up of the six stars, well on the invisible map that was drawn there were 8(including the question marked pearl hatch). Out of the 5 hatches found, three seem to match the stars, these are:
Cygnus – The Swan (Jack’ Hatch)
Sagita – The Arrow (Echo’s Hatch)
Ophiuchus – The Serpent Handler (Medical Hatch)

Sorry, but what do you mean by ‘ wat are the 5 ‘? I presume you mean, now that we have three of the hatches out of the 8 I mentioned, what are the other 5… but I may be wrong.

So yes i think the island is in the same position as when the plane crashed. (however i have no evidence for this)

DAN – Been thinking about wot u said bout how could two planes in such different places end up on the same island. I could only think of one thing and its very farfetched. As the plane was taking it from nigeria and it was being shot by those guys, maybe they damaged it, and so while it was flying it went off course and crash-landed on the island.

It is the last episode but it comes in two parts and you have only got part one. If you download part twop you will see what happens after sawyer says ‘what plan’

^^^^^ I cant remember exactly where we find out that Sun is pregnant but it is near the end of series two i think. You have to have seen most season 2 to find out that Sun is pregnant. So if you havnt seen that far then you havent missed, u just havnt seen it yet.

We find out when she takes pregnancy tests which they get from sawyer’s mdical stash (kate helps her). But we’re not sure if it is Jin’s baby or the guy who taught her english?? cos is sterile or something like that. But she did tell Jin that it was his. But we dont know for sure

That certainly is a possibility …. but i dont think that is why he has gone. Surely the lost produces would have thought about that when choosing the cast. I think he is going because they genuinly want him to go.

do you guys notice that in episode 21 when Locke and Eko find the other hatch, the video says that they must go to the Pala Ferry wich is gonna take them back to the barracks…in the last episode where the others took jack, kate sawyer and hurley it´s called Pala Ferry??

Desmond must have killed Calvin when he fell and bashed his head cos Calvin was about to leave on the boat and the boat was still there for Desmond to use in episode 23. Unless maybe Desmond moved and hid the boat or Calvin maybe joined the others or any other group of people thats maybe on the island. I woould really like to see an episode with Calvins story in it as it would be interesting to see why he is there after being in the army with sayid earlier. I think that he must be involved in future episodes

hi.. that last blog may back up my theory for the Biomagnetism.. it may be all the lost characters are just in the wrong place at the wrong time and stumbled upon this scientific research… or and about walt they let him go because he was growing one month every episode be the time all the series would off finished they should only off been on the island 150+ days and walt would off aged 7 yrs so they probably axed him from the show..

^^^ for A man of faith. Yes of course Ecko is a ‘good one’, he’s a priest. I know that he became a priest through corrupt methods but he then found his faith. He killed two other people, and even though he was acting in self defense it is still a sin to him and would have felt very guilty. I think that Ecko presumed that Henry was an Other, hence why he would want to apologise for killing two of his friends.

MICHEL, about the rain stoppiing when Walt looks at it. I dont think its a coincidence. Walt has done things like that before, when he thinks of something it seems to happen. He is reading that book about the birds in his house and then one smashes against the window. And when he reads that magazine (with a polar bear in it) on the island, and then there are polar bears. He has powers that we cant yet explain.

Some thing really quick before I go to work the hatches look like they can handle a nuclear explosion but when the magnet was surging it was pulling the hatch apart ????? it kind seems like the hatch is designed to keep human’s out and the test subject safe with in.

How crazy is that! Those sneaky Lost producers, putting an ad in the real world for a company that only exists in Lost!!
So I think it must be a major clue as to what’s going on… and unfortunately I never made the connection earlier in the series. I have only just realised it was important, after seeing one of the last episodes of Series 2, where they show you a brochure for the Hanso Foundation, with Penelope’s father’s face on it!
I went to the Hanso Foundation website and it appears all vague and hippy-ish, like some kind of charity merged with scientific research merged with a cult. But then I went to the HansoCareers website and it does seem clear that the Hanso Foundation do weird experiments – one of the jobs they advertise on there says that if you have worked for anyone like Amnesty International or other human rights organisations before, you will be disqualified from applying.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Hanso are behind all this… but if they do anything to Jack, Kate and Sawyer, I will flip out!!! I can’t imagine Lost without those 3.

The Dj Dan web site has a sweet pod-cast on it, the makers of lost are awesome. I hear the unpublished book that Sawyer was reading in season two before jack put it in the fire is being published or is published so you can get more info on the Hanso foundation and etc. I found fault with Dj Dans monster many years ago in the mid 90’s I visited a museum exhibit in florida about that vary same mammal which is as tall as most trees thus allowing them to eat fresh leaves from the top of smaller trees making them herbivores not carnivores. the pilot was rip from the cock pit by some thing else not this relative of the three toed tree sloths

Box Man, you are sooooo on to it with your discovery about the nanotechnology that can be controlled by an electromagnetic current and look like a storm cloud. I listened to the pod cast and it says that the thing can think for itself. Interesting! Can’t wait to see how this plays out in Series 3.
I had thought, ever since I saw the episode where the black cloud approaches Mr Echo, that it was some form of technology, so this makes perfect sense to me.

if i have read the ultimate lost theory correctly, then i can straight away now declare a reason for which it cannot be correct……… in the season 2 finale, we saw a glimpse of the outside/ REAL WORLD, for once that was not a flash back, it was real time….. therefore, they have not been frozen and the world has not gone through a huge disaster killing everyone else

The thing about Walt & Michael in the boat, I think they are going to be rescued, you know they are not (much) in season 3. Another possibility is that they die, the boat explodes or something. Henry wouldn’t give these coordinates if it was for nothing, y’all remember he’s ‘One of the good guys’, and besides, Michael freed him! To do something back Henry would give the good info.

You lot have really got me thinking now! I don’t think what that person said was true about the season 3 storyline… The only thing that would make sense would be that penny’s father funded the experiments by dharma/hanso because he’s uber-rich.

I am bugged by the Others letting Walt go – they went to all that trouble to get him, so they would not just let him leave. Desmond said he tried to leave the island by boat but ended up back at the same place, how would the Others know which direction to point Walt and Michael in?
Also, what sort of tests were carried out on Walt?
And what part does Alex have to play in the overall story?
And why do those numbers keep appearing everywhere?

Another Brit here. Been a loyal fan of Lost from the beginning and have really enjoyed reading through all of your comments and theories. I just wanna know WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. I love the show but I am soooooo confused. Apparently the writers have an ending, their just dragging out the storylines and the flash backs to cash in on the dollar-deniro. I cant wait for season 3, 4, 5 or 17 etc i just wanna know everything NOW.

Apparantly thw whole "Lost" programme is America’s way of introducing a technology to the country, something to do with electromagnetic energy (generator on the island) which has the power to heal (locke’s legs & Rose’s blood disease) can be used as a weapon crashing the plane for example, there is a website i will try find out the addy as i cant remember, its supposedly a technology the russian’s have, dont know if this is true but it fits in with the events in lost nearly

Hey guys, i have 2 say that this is a fantastic blog!! Another mad LOST fan here frm Australia. Alot of really gd n interesting theories.

I have a question. Remember when Locke was conversing to ‘Henry’ in the hatch in one of the episodes and Henry tells Locke that when he wad captured, he was actually on his way to their camp. And when Locke asks him why, Henry tells him that it was cos he was coming to get him. I find that rather perplexing. Why would Henry want Locke? Also, if he did want Locke, why wasn’t Locke one of the four that Michael had 2 bring back to the Others?

Seriously can’t wait for Season 3. It juz keeps gettin better n better. And the best part is, there are still 5 more seasons to go!! Haha.

I was lookin thru sum of the dvds from the 1st season and there was one where the cast of LOST were auditioning for roles. Was kinda surprised that Jorge Garcia(Hurley) originally auditioned for the role of Sawyer but they then decided to create an entirely new role(that being the rols of Hurley) for Jorge cos he was such a gd actor.

I dun believe that post from much earlier abt the supposed events of Season 3, maybe except for the theory that Charles Widmore is behind the reason for Desmond ending up on the island.

Also mentioned was the death of Sawyer thru Hurley and Jack bringing Kate’s body back to the island. I hope they aren’t true cos it would be kinda sad 2 lose such important characters. Also, Walt doesn’t seem like his usual self. I have a feeling that the Others have brainwashed him in some way. Michael doesn’t noe wat he is doing and I feel that the Others meant something different when they talked about them being ‘rescued’ at the coordinates 352.

I also think that Desmond, Locke n Eko r alive and season 3 will explain the events that took place on activation of the failsafe in greater detail. I agree with Box Man when he sed that Charlie might’ve been temporarily deaf when he was asked about wat happened.

Finally, does anyone have any idea why the Hanso Foundation website has been infiltrated? Seems kinda weird. The work of overzealous LOST fans or something else that has sinister connotations?

Next season, we will understand the real ramifications of Desmond activating the failsafe and what that did. The central issue of season three will be what did happen. It sounds like Desmond’s coming back. They said they want him back, we want to know why he was in prison, we want to know what happened when he turned that key that affected the entire island. That will become very important. The island was visible but only for an instant. It was also visible for an instant on 9/22/04 when the plane crashed.

The foot statue represents the history and archeology of the island. Season three will explore what happened on the island before Dharma arrived in the late 70’s and who was there.
The smoke monster will definitely be back in Season three. There is a good chance we saw the monster this year and didn’t realize we were looking at it. By the end of next year we will realize what it was and when we saw it.

Why did the Others take Jack, Kate and Sawyer? Where is their home? That will be the story told over the first six episodes.

Season 3 will also be about the main characters and their relationships. They want to service the relationships next year more than the mythology. How Locke got in the wheelchair, how Jack got his tattoos will be revealed in Season three.

Next season will be about the Others, as led by the oblique Henry Gale (played by Michael Emerson, who will join the regular cast). Mr. Cuse listed what viewers will learn about the Others by this time next year: "Who are these people? How many of them are there? What is their history? What are they trying to accomplish?"

Yes, and I bet it is a woman too, a gorgeous, slim but big chested woman with a JLo butt, dressed like an amazon, long brown hair, dirt on her face, shows no mercy, with an exotic name like Jasmine or Venus.

Hey Niall Kelly, in an interview with the creators of LOST, that was one of the theories that were presented to em to see if that was true. The LOST creators denied that it was the case and said that the truth will be revealed as the seasons progressed.

Gd theory though. I really wanna noe how the Others ended up on the island in the 1st place. Could they have possibly been scientists who worked together in the Dharma Initiative or something totally different. And also i would like to know what brought the Others to the island in the 1st place. Could they have experienced the same thing as Jack and the rest?

I hope that these pieces of info are revealed soon. Season 3 is gonna be fantastic i think. The failsafe has kept me thinking for a while. Are Desmond, Locke and Eko dead? I have a feeling that they didnt as other pple who have posted here have said that Desmond has been signed up for next season. So that could mean that they are alive, or that Desmond’s sole purpose is to serve as a flashback..

If the failsafe let out the electromagnetic field wouldnt that mess with the ships compass that michael and walt have.That is probably why the others told them to go to 352 to really make them leave and now thanks to the messed up compass they willsurely be back. well, i’ve heard alot of theories about electromagnetic forces and what they can do.
i.e. rose’s cure etc. bust the most interesting thing is about lockes legs. we all know that this unstable landscape has some curing power (i have no idea about how electromagnetic things work) but if the nano particle theory is correct, and if desmond of whoever shuts it off, then surely locke must be back paralyzed, and rose would die in a certain amount of time; which would be heartbreaking but again, an intruging story line…

i heard tat the black smoke is some sort of monster that was created by Dharma. the electromagnitism is used to control the eletro ions of which the black smoke is made up of. so the button must be pressed every 108 min to control it and prevent it from escaping from the island.

I think LOST is one of the best series since X-files – keeps you guessing and brings people together like this site for some really enthralling discussion – so what if it’s not real (maybe not?) bringing people together like this is sooooo cool.

Here’s a new idea for everyone – Maybe the whole LOST series is just one of Hurley’s catatonic dreams and the episode where he was in the hospital was one of the few times he is alert and awake…….the rest is all in his head and therefore anything can happen.

I read that according to unofficial information about "LOST: SEASON 3" Claire will have a relationship with Jack. Do you think it’s true? Maybe someone heard something about that? I knew it is a social experiment. The others are just testin them 2 see how they react 2 the island. It occured 2 me that maybe the "numbers" are co – ordinates of some kind. I don’t know if you have noticed but all the numbers are multiples with the exception of 15 and 23. I live in Samoa and our local DVD stopre downloads the eps from the internet.

I reckon that John Locke’s Father is the con man who did Sawyer’s family,remember when he said"your not the first person i’ve conned"how interesting would that be.

back in season 1 sayid followed some cables he found on the beach that led to the french women, the cable went into the sea (i think french woman said it was some sort of power supply – mayb wrong) but wat if tehre was something else down there e.g. the room that Walt was put in by thee others, underwater hence when shannon saw walt he was soaking wet.

and how about suns pregnancy, every1 thinks its teh english teachers but maybe it really is jins the island healed his sterileness.

plus i support the idea of there being 2 groups of ‘others’, 1 is henrys group hence the we are the good guys, and he wants sawyer, jake and kate to join their grouop to battle the evil ones in the future (these 3 hav experiences with guns), hence why goodwin wanted ana lucia as she cud use a gun to.

another idea of mine is that LOST is based loosely on the movie BATTLE ROYALE, its a form of sick reality television, the people were specially selected to take part, the only way out of the island is to win the game, and to win you have to kill your fellow contestants, teh aim of teh game is survival.

to further support the theory of LOST being a game, maybe penelope was paying people to find the island because shes been watching the reality program and saw desmond on it, but couldnt find the island as the button pressing kept the island hidden away.

thats where i disagree, in teh episode where locke and ecko find teh other hatch (the monitoring one) there is the flash backs of claires psychic and he said it himself that he was a FREUD, the first time cliare went to see him he didnt tell her anything and told her to go, then the second time he saw her, he told her to keep the baby as she was teh only one who could protect it, why the sudden change of mind?

The Others don’t mean harm to the ‘Lost ones’… They make it seem that way so they can keep control their actions someway or another.
I don’t believe the ones they captured from the other side of the island (the children, Cindy,..) are dead,because The Others have captured Alex 17 years go, and she’s still alive. And I also think there’s gonna be a suprise when Rousseau meets The Others.. I think she’ll recognize them, or at least some of them.

Well season 2 comes to an end and are we any wiser?
I can only guess that the magnetic effect of the island gives out a huge EM pulse if the button is not pressed. This would explain why the plane crashed as all their electronics would have fried.
Also the huge magnetic field created by the island would play havoc with any compass making navigation difficult. Try this experiment with a magnet and iron filings and you get pretty circular patterns so you end up where you started unless you take a very specific heading (michael).
Oh and why did Locke put his map in that tube?

Ok, heres one for ya.

In the first season, there was an episode where Jack kept seeing his Dad around on the island. This was all kinda dismissed as him going a little crazy from lack of sleep or something. However, at the end Jack finds the coffin on the island, empty I might add. The body was nowhere to be seen, and they havent since found it or made any other mention of it. This is basically where my lil theory started  the islands healing abilities raising the dead. Just imagine how interesting it could be if Jack wasnt having a hallucination or that his Dad turned up as one of The Others alive and well! I admit this is unlikely as there are bodies that have been dug up that have not returned to life (like the real Henry Gale). However, this whole idea was then pushed even more to the front of my mind in the episode where Ecko has his lil flashback thing and there is that girl who has, guess what& come back from the dead! I know she wasnt on the island, but it goes to show its possible in Lost! Could Boon and Shannons graves actually be empty with them being resurrected and joining The Others? Er& no. But its fun thinking about different theories anyway!

I agree with most of your comments i am only 12 but i watch lost and i sortof had a feeling is this a reality tv show! i mean it could b a show of life and death andthere all being watched and people like the "others" are cast members as in they know there being watched so they go along with it. you may b thinking y would ppl die well its life or death like i said… if you fail you die and if you are successful you live its only an idea but its kindof good ?!?

You said something about the bullets being fake. When Michael was shooting at the bird in the jungle he never fired off any rounds because he was given an empty clip.
